I just don't understand how kids still don't ride bikes like we all did back in the day. It was like a car for your adolescence! I had the best times going to other kids neighborhoods. Racing your friends home before it got dark. Trying ramps that were too steep and killing yourself.

i think kids cant get past the killing yourself part. they never do anything that could even remotely hurt them short term. so something like riding a bike around and without a helmet and doing wheelies or having your friends ride the handlebars and the back pegs with you is like a horror movie to them. i got in big trouble once when i had my girlfriend steering the bike on my lap while i pedaled. her mom and my mom saw us and they lost their shit. we were too young to be dirty, but our moms thought up all kinds of crazy shit. so we stopped riding the bike like that and started having sex.
