I think EV is perfect for long haul trucking. Not only is the much bigger chassis able to accommodate more batteries, and bigger batteries that would increase range -- but the government mandated rest periods offer the opportunities to recharge those batteries for several hours at a time.

The whole point is to not have drivers.

Self driving on the interstate is ez compared to high density pop areas.

Just need energy density and lifetime of the batteries to hit a certain point.

Which he has alluded to several times, has already happened.

Could all be vapor tho.

There's a strong chance where they reach the point that they are the best option, but currently they don't have the energy density. As it stands, the same weight of diesel is 250x the energy as a lithium battery. Even at 500wh/kg it's 90x the energy. At that point I suspect it will be suitable for short/medium range hauls, but the fact that you'll have to stop for an as of yet undetermined time frequently on a long haul could really hurt the bottom line, since time is money.

Don't get me wrong, it's coming eventually, but I see it as more of a gradual process. As battery technology improves, it will expand into being offered, more accepted and then mainstream for more and more situations.

The issue with the concept of EV class 8 trucks is the weight of the batteries required to give it a substantial range. It takes too much away from load capacity. This is the reason NKLA and Hyliion are trying a different approach to solve the problem.

For anyone looking for a play, there is metric ton of bullish options action on JPM Aug 21 and Sept 18. Aug is 3:1 calls to puts and Sept is 5:1. A lot of money betting on movement higher in the next 90 days.

Interesting stat. Nasdaq up 1.35% and only has 53% advancers to 45% decliners. The haves and the have-nots indeed.

My advice: I have made some good money with SPACS. The BurgerFi thing I think isn't going to payoff. A couple of reasons.. 1 it is a crowded space. 2 the chain has never really exploded and achieved real critical mass. 3 it isnt "sexy" in terms of the DDTG/Robinhood crowd in terms of it catching fire.

Some other alternatives to look at...

LCA merging with Golden Nugget Online Casino.

NFIN non-binding letter of intent to merfe with Triterras Fintech. They have and host proprietary commodities trading software and have positive EBITDA (87m) on 4.1 billion in transaction volume in 2019.

SHLL is currently pulling back from a spike up. It is in the EV space with Hyliion who votes on the merger end of the summer.

Also wait for Bill Ackmans Godzilla SPAC "Pershing Square Tontine" will trade under PSTH.U

Just my thoughts.
I only ended up buying 10 shares, just something to play around with, see if anything comes of it after the deal with BurgerFi. I did buy some NFIN the other day after seeing your post and looking into it.

Buckle up when you buy SPACs. They are volatility squared.

Futures got some spring in their step this morning. Normally a summer Thursday before a 3 day holiday weekend is a big sell day. These days, who the fuck knows.

TSLA up 10% on production numbers premarket.
SHLL up 13% probably being carried by TSLA tail wind.

It's like when MMOs make the hard Raid zones easier after a year or two so the normies can play.

Seriously though, it appears that some folks got early info on the jobs report. I swear to God if I got put in charge of the SEC all I would have the organization do all day is look at all the trades that happen 1 hr before assorted reports are made public each week.

I'm debating if RPRX is at a good entry point, its around 45 today... I do like the business but maybe it comes down more?

all the analysts i read pre IPO liked it at 30$. Then one of its main drugs got lost in an IP lawsuit between Mylan and Biogen. I like the model but I am waiting till it drifts down around 30$
