Yeah this is hard for me as a consumer as keeping a game above 60 fps just is not even on my list of priorities at all. Yep I get it, I'm a total pleb, but legit I'm on a Vizio 1080p TV with my PS4 Pro and I'm totally happy with games that the hardcore label as "running like ass." Seriously, ResetEra had a topic about how awful RDR 2 looks on PS4 Pro, and I'm like what the fuck you talking about Wilis? It looks phenominal on mine, and I just have to guess that maybe the 4k shit looks bad? I dunno. I'm easy to please. I'm more concerned with the escort quest failing due to the guy getting stuck on a piece of destructable environment in a game where you blow everything up, moving or not.
Was going to say I played it for about 20 minutes, but I guess my last post was 50 minutes ago. That's what Just Cause games do to time.
I had some slowdowns and the in-game cutscenes look pretty bad for some reason. Otherwise, it's more Just Cause and it was awesome. Like the above review mentions, UI is garbage, will take some getting used to to understand wtf I'm doing there w/ the squads and front lines. Was a pretty active skirmish going on at the 'chaos line' or whatever where there's a stead stream of active fighting. At one point I was above it looking down, watching the rocket fire and other ordinance (mortars, tank, machine gun) going back and forth across a river. Was really impressive.
WIll get some more time w/ it later and see how quickly the honeymoon wears off. Moving via grapple and wingsuit/parachute doesn't ever get old though.
My only complaint: when did everything become about stunts? I know, it's Just Cause, but when I take over an area and the only objectives are 'wingsuit this or that' and 'jump a specific car that is in the area that you keep overlooking through a circle' instead of some objective based gunplay - that's kinda blah. Maybe I'm thinking of Ghost Recon Wildlands or something, or maybe in Just Cause 3 there were more missions/objectives in the areas than there are in 4.
