Yeah not backing a jrpg, it's impossible to tell if it's going to be good or not because the main aspect for the quality of an old school jrpg imo is the story. From a quick look the characters look uninspired and generic and the story/world bits don't seem very interesting either so not getting a really good first impression on the script behind. Also jrpg isn't a dead genre either, it's not like when they make a kickstarter for an old school western rpg or adventure game or space sim, all of which are more or less dead genres nowadays, this would basically be compared directly to stuff like the the Tales, FF, Dragon Quest and such.
Put 15 on this since they managed to get a PS4/Vita option, which I think is really cool. I probably wouldn't have bothered before they gave that option. Hopefully they end up letting it be a cross-buy title too.

Btw, if you're a bit turned off by the big headed, disproportionate 3D character art - there's a disclaimer in the start of the video at the top of the main page that says it's all place holder stuff and he'll be doing more "realistic" models.

Even if the game ends up sucking I won't feel bad for throwing him $15 bucks because the guy is doing it because he really wants to make a game.
Yep, definitely feel good about supporting this guy. If you're on the fence about it at all you should read his background. I hope he does well.
15 bucks can you get a PS4/Vita, WiiU, or PC key. Worth throwing that little amount down imo.
