New 'Conan' Movie From Arnold Schwarzenegger, Christopher McQuarrie In Works
A new 'Conan the Barbarian' movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is in the works, with Christopher McQuarrie attached to write and direct.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning for King Conan, a new Conan the Barbarian movie in development at 20th Century Studios that has the Mission: Impossible franchise’s Christopher McQuarrie attached to write and direct, sources have confirmed to Deadline.
Reps for 20th declined to comment. Schwarzenegger broke the news himself in an appearance at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend.
“With King Conan, it’s a great old story that Conan was forty years as King, and now he gets forced out of the kingdom, and there’s conflict, of course, but somehow he comes back, and there’s all kinds of madness, violence, magic, and creatures and stuff like that,” Schwarzenegger said.

Back in the early 00's, there was talk of Milius making King Conan: Crown of Iron. There was even a script floating about. I think I got 86ed because of Arnold's political career.
I just don't think you're going to be able to capture the magic of that first movie without Milius involved and a Basil Polidorus score, plus Arnold is just too damn old at this point.

Yeah, he'll turn 79 this year. Will his throne have a built-in lift? Looks like there are more sequels in the pipeline for him.

"Red Citadel" Tsoltha-Lanti and Pellas, lots of action
"Hour of the Dragon" where conan meets his Queen, really good story
"Colossal King Conan" goes and finds the circlet of Kull in the Pic kingdom
All these have lots of action, sorcery, bOObs, and a really good story. All they would have to do is adapt one of them for the big screen and you'd need wheelbarrows to take the money to the bank
I'm hopeful, but hope is the first step to disappointment
