Plot: 1985. Miami is kept safe under the watchful eye of Kung Fury and his Thundercops, the ultimate police force assembled from across history to defeat the villainous Kung Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. After the tragic death of a Thundercop sees the group disband, a mysterious villain emerges from the shadows to aid in the Fuhrer's quest to attain the ultimate weapon. Kung Fury must travel through space and time to save his friends, defend the prestigious Miami Kung Fu Academy and defeat evil once and for all.

This movie actually wrapped filming in 2019, but since then it’s been stuck in a legal and financial mess. The production company filed a lawsuit in 2020 against one of its main investors (Creasun Entertainment USA) for allegedly backing out of a $10 million funding deal. That money was supposed to go toward finishing post-production.

Because of that, a lot of the VFX remains unfinished, and the whole project has been in limbo.

Yesterday, a 10-minute sizzle reel leaked online. Director David Sandberg wasn’t too happy about the leak—it contained unfinished VFX and spoilers—but he did confirm that he still wants to complete and release the film.

So it’s not dead, just trapped in legal purgatory. Hopefully the renewed interest gives it the push it needs to finally see the light of day.

Nysus Nysus already posted the leaked reel in the 2015 movie thread, but I'll repost it here for reference.
