Zatch Bell aka Gash Bell is a pretty fun one. Beelzebub. Gokushufudo if you want pure comedy. Maison Ikkoku for romcom.

It's semi-autobiographical from the Death Note team about two aspiring manga authors going from struggling with ideas and breaking into the industry during High School to success as adults.

Teaches you how the industry works on the side which is really interesting.

I only read battle manga but still enjoyed this, though it does bave mind battle elements like Death Note.
