Biggest news ever - Netflix Buys Millarworld!! :)

Kingsman and Kick-Ass have unique Hollywood deals elsewhere and aren’t a part of this particular acquisition

He doesn't mention Wanted. But it is in the banner tweet. so, probably is part of the deal.
American Jesus. Jupitor's Legacy, Huck, Chrononants, Empress, Reborn, MPH, Jupitor's Circle, Superior, Wanted, Supercrooks, Starlight, and Nemesis are shown.

Nemesis would imo be the best one to come out the games. limited cgi needed
cuz it's not super heroy as opposed to every other property

It turns out that Netflix is probably doing this because it knew it was going to need some original content to replace what it will probably be loosing in the not so distant future.

Disney to Pull Movies From Netflix, Launch Streaming Service
well the Millar stuff is basically story-boarded for production. Just follow along w/ the comics and you should have basically anything better than shitty iron first or luke cage.

This game plan of netflix has been known for at least three years. The fact that netflix is attempting to make content for the sole reason of not being totally dependent upon outside sources of content has been obvious to everyone. The point of disneys action is the reality of the rapid decline of cable. Has finally hit the suits at disney. Honestly a counter reaction in 2019 is way to late by them.

Yeah I know Netflix has been building out their original content for some time, I was speaking more specifically about them bringing some comic book IP's in house. But you're right that this is a move that Disney should have done a few years ago. They have some properties they could base some serials on (Star Wars for example) but only make financial sense on some sort of premium platform.

It's nice that Disney has finally decided to join CBS and all the other networks in the Pit of Irrelevance. It's like they didn't bother to learn from print media's identical mistake. People will not bother with non-aggregate sites. End of story. It took the music industry a while to figure that out, but they did, and it's why they still exist.

Disney is going to get a larger slice of a smaller pie.

It hurts them both, really. But it won't kill either.

Market share! Metrics!

yeah. as the reddit thread pointed out.

Company execs. "Hey, this internet streaming is killing cable TV. all the content in one place, for one low price. We need to get in on that. So, lets take our content, and make our own streaming service, and turn internet streaming into cable tv!"
Everyone else. "oh, ok. pirate it is then."

its even more fucked up, because internet service itself is becoming owned by companies that also own media. AT&T is buying Time Warner, which owns HBO, Warner Bros, Turner, CW, and more. Comcast owns NBC, Syfy, USA, E!, Universal Studios, Dreamworks, and much more. Not to mention all the shit Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc is getting into.

Now you have ISPs with content who have a huge vested interest in making sure their internet subscribers get squeezed for even more money, so they are doing super shady shit like saying "oh, your data cap is only 500gb/mo, but hey our extra $40/mo streaming service doesn't count towards that data cap, so maybe you wanna buy that... "

you know, the implication
