I was going to mock the Bruins for the Swayman situation, but I'm sure that would backfire, so I went with lurkingdirk lurkingdirk 's suggestion. It's always safe to mock the Leafs.

NHL.com was kind enough to have a to do checklist for the Avs season on their standings page.

In no particular order:

x - Clinched Playoff spot
y - Clinched Division
p - President's Trophy
z - Clinched Conference

He’s good but that’s a lot for a guy that only started 40 games once.

Shesterkin probably going to sign for 10 plus now.

Thats going to make for an interesting goalie market in the future.

Caps managed to perfectly use Backstrom's LTIR. Really sad him and Oshie are going to finish their careers sitting out on Injured Reserve.

Go Habs go!

Well, we somehow managed to win our first game even though we were dominated, grats to Montentbeaut for how 47 shots shutout.

We are the second youngest team in the nhl and it shows. We are ok with the puck, but damn do we have trouble getting it back when we don’t.

I am not on the Lane Hutson bandwagon like a lot of people are, he’s super exciting when he has the puck in the offensive zone, but he’s so small and weak that hes never going to be able to take the puck away from the opposition. Whenever he was in our zone without the puck it felt like Leafs were on a power play as Hutson had no impact in our zone.

Still Montreal games are fun to watch, we are pretty exciting with the puck and other teams are exciting when we don’t. 😁

NJ isn't a dark horse, definitely a cup contender.

Don't think Car is cup contender. Detroit is a dark horse. Toronto is just get out there and have fun.
They have a sick roster, but I disagree on calling a team with one playoff win (and like 2 good seasons) in like a decade a cup contender. I think dark horse fits for them but they are on the inside track for sure.

Well, taking my friend out to Pittsburgh for his first Penguins game has scarred him for fucking life. At least everything other than the game was a good time.

It's amusing and weird that so much of hockey media continues to parrot the narrative that the Capitals are only concerned with getting Ovechkin the goals record, as if our front office hasn't done a terrific job of tactical selling of certain assets, while injecting youth into the lineup. Our farm system went from bottom 5 a few years ago to middle of the pack now. We haven't traded away tons of draft picks over the next few years, either, and the amount of cap space we have coming off the books after this season AND next season is crazy. Obviously still need to keep hitting on draft picks and use that cap space properly, but some projections make it sound like we're completely barren of assets for the next 5 years.

Hey, future Red Wing Jacob Trouba had a great game at least. Just a glimpse at what you have to look forward to next season!

Fuck no.

The Penguins were playing the long game last night. Driving up Shesterkin's price to force a trade or a crippling cap hit.
