Razer Naga - 2014 Model

I've owned 4 of the Razer Nagas now. The first two started having double clicking issues within the first 9 months to a year of use. My most recent lasted almost three years before it became nearly unusable (because of the same double click issue). With that one I was able to get a couple more months out of it by applying contact cleaner directly to the clicker inside the mouse.

Now Razer has a less expensive 2014 model. It came in today and I LOVE it. The size is much bigger than the previous iteration, and it's a little heavier, but if you've got a huge paw you'll find this new model fits very comfortably (remember the old Intellimouse? ya, that big). They moved mouse buttons 4 and 5 to be right below the scroll wheel/mouse 3. They made the mouse slightly more ergonomical, bringing the side buttons in slightly and widening the left and right click areas. The lights are green instead of blue (there might've been green models before, but all of my previous Naga's were blue).

The 12 side buttons are about the same, perhaps slightly more sensitive. Allegedly they redesigned the "clickers" to address the issue of the mouse eventually doing the double clicking that every Razer mouse user eventually experiences. Since the mouse isn't a year old yet, only time will tell if they actually succeeded or if it's just PR spin.

Anyone else tried the new mouse?

Edit: Added image in the spoiler.

Side buttons look a little better then their past models. Has the same buttons under the scroll wheel as the naga epic which worked fine. Looks good and I might get it after my naga epic shits the bed. I look forward to all the hate it will get though.

I tried to support Razer about 4 years ago, but every mouse I ever had died within 6 months. I'm not even a huge gamer. Double clicks and scroll wheels were just junk. I went back to logitech and havent had a single issue in 3 years.

Did they mention a fix for the scroll wheels that miss? I got tired of cleaning mine every 2 months (and no, im not a hambeast. My hands are a little sweaty occasionally but I am a very clean guy who doesnt eat Cheetos while scrolling through porn)

I've had a Razer Death Adder for about 6 years now, not a single issue with it (ITS AWESOME). The only minor issue is the braiding on the cable has worn out, can't really complain about that as I travel a lot with the mouse. I've actually been thinking about retiring that mouse from gaming and using it at work.

I've always wanted a Naga, maybe I'll try that out next.

I've had the original Naga since it came out and it's never had an issue. It's the only Razer product I've owned, so I would definitely buy again.

No issues with my 2+ year old naga although I do like where the side buttons are on that new one, looks like they are a little further down which would fit better ergonomically for my hand.

My Death Adder lasted about a year before i had the double click issues. I enjoyed it while it lasted but I went back to Logitech also.

I really do not like the side buttons. Seems like they would be in the way and a deal breaker for me.

The whole point of the mouse is the side buttons, though...

I love the concept of MMO mouses (mice?), but I've always had issue with training my hand to remember which button does what in the heat of battle. Muscle memory and all that. I've heard great things about those who've pulled it off though.

For those who prefer Logitech, they have theLogitech G600. Same basic mouse design, but a bit larger and sturdier than the original Naga. However, I have been hearing great things about the 2014 redesign of the Naga.

I just got the razer death adder, I found it for like $30 so could not resist. It does not have all the cool buttanz like the more expensive models but it has a good engine 1000mhz refresh and a 6400dpi so it works well for shooters. I like it so far. I like the feel, I like the responsiveness... The one thing I gotta say that sucks is the damn program they want you to use. You have to log in to use it? Fuck that.

Many swear by Logitech, but the last one I got for like $60 a few years back stopped working when I found the cord on tha back of it, where it connects to the mouse started to fray. WTF? This should not happen in a $60 mouse. And its not like it was pulling or the cord being too taught or anything. It just frayed from the everyday back and forth motion of moving the mouse.

This Razer one has a nice braided cord which is extra long too, so this should not be a problem.

Thats a lot of buttanz!

How will your thumb ever keep track of that shit. Thats got to be a learning experience right there. But it does make sense for an MMO.

That's weird, their earlier programs never made you log in.

Think they log you in now and keep your setting in the cloudz now

But do they pull your mouse settings from the cloud? Seems rather foolish.

In any case I stopped using their program years ago, it kept fucking up my touchpad.

It took me a couple of hours to get used to it and maybe a couple of days to get to the point where I never mis-clicked. It isn't as bad as it seems.
