Definately opening night material! I'll be there. Can't wait to see the final battle play out. I know Spielberg said he wouldn't let any of his previous projects be used in any movie but who knows.

looks great, i don't even remember the derby from the books but its been a while. Didn't love the voice over though, hopefully thats just for the trailer and not in the actual movie.

As a 80s kid, I approve the message that the 80s were the pinnacle of humanity

I can't imagine that the movie is going to be long enough to do the book justice. It's obvious from the trailer that it's not entirely disconnected from the book like WWZ was, so there's plenty of potential for it to still be a good movie. It would have made an amazing mini-series though.

There is not a specific scene like that car chase but I am pretty sure I know where they are going with that.

Overall still very excited for the movie.

Put me in the bucket of pleasantly surprised by the trailer. Book was mediocre nostalgia porn, but the movie seems to at least be dialing that in.

Pretty much this.

The movie can't really be worse than the book. If they really just focus on the over the top shit it will be a fun watch. I do agree you could better fit the story in a miniseries though. Like, 1 half hour episode miniseries.
