My kids 6 and 8 were playing Roblox this morning, no big deal or so I thought..
Out of nowhere I hear a chick having a full porno orgasm. Run over and get them to pause the game not sure what's going on.
It was coming through the game FFS.

I checked both of there friends lists and there are no strangers on there

What the fuck.
Has anyone else had this??
I don't know the game but I thought you could only talk to people you know and no one else was online..

If I'm not mistaken, in Roblox you can download/play map packs that people create so it was probably that. Roblox reminds me of the Chinese knock of games. People make game mode of other games so kids can play them. My kids have played CoD / Among us / Pet shop / Squid games / etc knock offs. The creator can also use sound bites from whatever they choose.

It's probably too late now, but if you can get your kids off Roblox I would. As far as the porno sounds as stated the map creator probably stuck in some sound files and other users can force the sound to play by executing a command. It's very common commands still used in multiplayer games today (FFXIV has it for example, not porn obviously)

Never played roblox, but probably prudent to at least keep an eye on what sort of places they play and look into them and maps and the such yourself time to time. No doubt there's almost certainly creepos in Roblox, but that's true of all the internet. Your kid probably isn't thinking like that and it shouldn't necessarily get in the way of enjoying content, but a dutiful parent should at least investigate and be aware of the potential of problems. There's inevitably gonna be things like this that are unintentional, because a big way kids learn is pulling things apart and then slapping them together again.

Would also say to get your kids off Roblox unless you're going to constantly babysit them on it. Seems to just be a haven for pedos and grooming.

My son recently started playing but I have all of the parental controls on. It seems to severely limit what experiences he can join and I haven’t heard any voice chat yet. It limits to stuff that’s rated for everyone. He only plays on weekends and doesn’t have the password. I have to log him in. For those of you with more experience, is that enough or should I ditch it?

Jesus christ, that guy trying to make excuses for sending extremely sexual messages to a girl he knew was 12 was so cringe. Stuff like I'm gonna fuck you hard, ect, just completely inexcusable. The appology in the video:

I think it's safe to say keep your kid the fuckkkkkk away from platforms like discord or really any direct messaging service similar to it. Since that is where this started and occurred. Hopefully he gets the death penalty.

my boys are 9 & 12, and my niece is 8. they play this all the time, along w/ minecraft. 90% of the time, they have facebook messenger kids up on their phones so they can talk. there's almost zero interaction w/ anyone else in the game that they don't know. my niece was scammed somehow out of cosmetic items she had. then whined in game and someone else gave her something better, to which she said thanks and instantly logged off. she'll probably be dancing at the auction house in WoW someday.

shit is out there and hard to completely keep away from your kids. especially if they want to look for it. you just have to be involved to a degree and check in frequently. i can walk in their rooms and look at their screens before they know i'm there.

That $1000 minimum withdraw is particularly insidious. No one but the absolute largest creators will ever be able to make money because of it.

This "world" they were on was a new one I hadn't seen yet. Some city place and it had 2K people playing..
I noticed that if you rob the bank there is an alarm sound, so the sound bite comments are legit.
Fuck I hate people, just let kids be kids

There's only one way they let you get away with this, and that's by not letting you exchange your Robux for USD unless its at least $1,000 transaction. If they are allowing you to sell it to buy other things in Roblox (like your own Robux, or other such things) they are breaking the law.

I don't know the EXACT details, but any game that lets you profit off it directly (Roblox, Core, Second Life, etc) must understand that once you make the exchange to USD, that money belongs to you, period. Second Life understands this, and recently separated their payment system with second life itself in a rather smart way that lets it be integrated with other systems (See this link if you want to know more). Even if you end up getting banned, if you have USD, you have every right to collect it. I think if you don't it gets turned over to your states unclaimed property area.

So tl;dr: Once you sell your Robux, the resulting USD belongs to you.

Predators go where the prey are. Kids play roblox so creeps go there. The only way to keep your kids away from creeps will be to have them play shit that little kids don't really play, or single player type games with lobby only multiplayer.

If they play shit that most kids don't then you maybe avoid the pedos and dipshits trying to harm kids... and get incels and other weirdo fucks instead.
