Screeners

I was also thinking the same thing recently. I actually thought that they usually start showing up in late November. And I have not seen many at all floating around in Torrentland. Maybe they came up with a new way of distributing them that is better at keeping them from "pirates"?

One of my clients worked in the biz so he still gets screeners. He has been receiving them for the past two weeks at least. I don't even recognize any of the movies he has gotten so there is that.

I've been getting screeners for the past month. Just saw American Hustle last night. I wasn't impressed. Jennifer Lawrence didn't do all that well. I prefer Sharon Stone in Casino over what Lawrence was trying to do.

Lone Survivor however was bad ass.

kinda sucks that each year they give awards to movies nobody has seen, then they are shocked nobody watches these award shows. yeah i get that the "popular" movies are for supposed dummies, but if the dummies liked a movie so much and all the nominations are for shit nobody heard of or even had the chance to go see, then whats the fucking point?

that being said, i have not seen screeners floating around either, but i probably would not recognize one if i had.

My girlfriend is watching Saving Mr. Banks right now. I had to leave the room. Not for me, never.

You need to find a wife who is in SAG or some other hollywood association. November/December is like Christmas everyday in the mail.

Comes out on Blu-Ray the end of next month. If I like the screener, I'll absolutely buy it. I like the premise of a 70's F1 movie, and I know some of the back story that makes the movie what it is. Sad I couldn't see it in theaters.

screeners are always standard definition (max 720x480 res), fuck that shit wait a few weeks/months for the 1080p high defs with 7.1 DTS sound. They must have tightened the watermarks and stuff on the screeners, since a few should have leaked out by now but nada.

I have literally 10TB of movies that I have downloaded that I want to see before I die, but rarely watch more than one movie a week. Too many good TV shows and video games to suck up all my free time. Random sampling of movies in my "to watch" htpc folder

If you have not seen this movie just watch it immediately. It's about 10000000x better than anything else on your list and is an alltime great movie.

I just finished watching that, and really enjoyed it. Had no idea what it was, never saw a preview or heard anything about it. Just saw it near the top of a torrent list, recognized the actor in the screenshot, and went "Ohh cool, some kind of space movie, sounds good."

I mean, it wasn't amazing or anything, but seemed well worth watching to me. Although, come to think of it, fuck shakycam.

I usually get the list of nominations then watch all the screeners for the awards, makes it enjoyable for me.
