As someone that bought in hard and ran games for a year or so I am very meh. Maybe they can tweak it to make it more fun but some of the systems are not good for pen and paper. Classes were all mostly shit until level 4. Also weapon tiers and damage was so fucked, power armor was either too hard to get or useless. On and on. Fix that shit.

There is a 2nd edition?! You know what don’t care…no I have not.
it was in my post!
starfinder 2e released July 31st.

I actually don't know much about it. that was a genuine question previously.
starfinder 2e is compatible with pathfinder 2e apparently.
(kingmaker and wrath were both 1e. I don't think there are any 2e pathfinder games yet either?)

heres a vid going over it.

This is going to be fart-sniffing woke cow excrement. The system should be pretty good, though.

100%.

I absolutely love fantasy Iso-RPGs, but there aren't nearly enough of them that cover other genres. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no doubt that this game is going to be completely insufferable.

Paizo is a completely lost company -- nearly every senior staff member is a Leftist woman and they're going to demand the game includes every drop of their rampant mental-illness.

ha. yeah. that is always a worry. and, yes. Paizo did not escape the curse. they are just as infested as Wizards it seems, despite the entire origin of wanting to keep the old.

Changing races to "ancestry" very bad sign. I've personally not had an issue with the 50/50 male/female thing in flavor text. but, its a warning sign of course.

All these new races are lame as hell. ugly. who wants to play this ugly shit? you can have 1 or 2 tortoise, or dragonborn, but most people want to play sexy humans, sexy elves, or sexy demons.

Changing races to "ancestry" very bad sign.

I mean, hey, it's what they've been doing in academia for a couple of decades now, ever since it was re-realized that "ancestry" actually significantly impacts human biology, it's why studies have to determine it and account for it.

i'm pretty fond of the 2nd edition (revised) pathfinder books. been buying them to run a game at some point. naturally i'm not relaly using their world . but i like the mechanics i see.

ancestry is pretty retarded, though i think they do that more cus some races in 2nd arn't distinct races. half breeds and uplifted/magically altered things. But yea i do think they did the change because their absurd leftist leadership is allergic to the word race.

i don't think they think orcs are mexicans or black people like wizards does tho.

They changed race to ancestry because it allows them to use an ABCD acronym for allocating attribute boosts during character creation (Ancestry, Background, Class, Distribute). AFAIK, that one isn't related to wokeism.

That being said, Paizo is extremely woke and they are even worse than WotC. Their setting books have sections dedicated to assuring the readers that they consulted the correct diversity experts and hired the right skin colors of people for designing their world. They removed all mentions of slavery from Cheliax even though that was one of the two pillars holding them up as setting villains, with no in-lore explanation, just a blog post saying that it's insensitive so they're not going to mention it anymore.

that's why nobody buys setting books. full of editorials by loosers who wish they were more profound authors.

Its too bad how this entire hobby (PnP) got somehow co-opted by fucking blue haired queers and faggots. Like how and when and why did they let them in? It was all about the fat nerds giving other fat nerds shit to imagine in their dull meaningless lives.

PnP was for the social recluses of the 1970s and it's still for the social recluses of the 2020's.

yea. I was (am) a fan of the old TSR dark sun setting. the very nature of the setting would make wizards shit a chicken. each edition since second edition they attempted t o fag up dark sun. homogenize it with the rest of dnd. make the art more saturday morning cartoon etc.

The setting was about evil wizards dusting the world and slaves fighting other slaves in their slave loin cloths. it had the best (read the most racist) race rules. the elves in the setting with magicians to end all magicians. it was glorious.

they don't make good settings anymore...though that's not a huge deal, most everybody just runs their own setting. kind of the good part of tabletop games. basically no matter how faggoty the writers are, you can use the tools however you want. i imagine the whole point of dnd one is to try to eliminate this.
