Well, I knew he was going to use them, if it was pure charity he would just hand out money. ¶= but 100 plat a piece is still a pretty generous price.

Looks like Kagatob is going full retard tonight.

And now today Kagatob hooked me up with Call of Bones and Invoke Shadow free of charge when my necro dinged 34. Hm.

Kagatob is often a really good dude who is super loyal to his own and might have too much fun forum trolling.

We got into it a bit but I don't know him personally outside of buying some shit from him. The only drama we have had in almost a year and pretty minor.

I just knew him from RnF over on the P99 forums. Never had an issue with him personally but he never seemed like he was interested in making many friends.

Haynar's latest patch and working client-switcher hotkeys work superbly, so this server finally feels good to play. The basic client form the setup guide is terrible and TAKP frankly isn't worth playing with that, but Haynar's DLLs fix just about every problem. Prior to yesterday, it also made hotkey scripts not work for some reason, but he fixed that. I now have basically no issues, it's just a matter of getting used to the differences in client versions compared to Titanium (i.e. no mouse-scrolling third persion view, no auto-stand, etc.) and the server is genuinely good when you don't have to struggle with the client. Before this, I got absolutely constant issues with double mouse cursors, stuck mouse, inability to move windows, etc.

ya well p2002 is moving to the titanium client which will solve ALL of these problems and then some!

will make the transition for future p99 refugees much much smoother!

if you try TAKP and it just "feels wrong" make sure you check out p2002, especially once the Titanium client drops!

Yeah P2002 is great if you like inaccurate content and broken mechanics.

so i tried 2002 after first starting on takp when it came out. There is an obvious difference between the two servers. One side actually develops shit and is able to solve most issues, the other side just takes code from others and implements it. TAKP takes eq emu to a new level of competance that I have yet to see. 2002 kind of seems like its made by amateurs.

If you have been playing emus, its pretty easy to see that TAKP is just constructed better than 2002. I have a guild management page that has average stat breakdowns of everyone in my guild. I have spell pages that show what spells i have attained and the ones I have yet to attain. I can use the nemesis UI. Also something about the lighting on the mac client reminds me of how things looked before they added shadows and that wierd ass water effect.

The client once configured is the most stable one I have used. I used to use eqw back in the day so its actually something I prefer.

TAKP is so far the most robust eqemu experience I have been a part of.

All TAKP updates since June:
6-15-2016 | The Al'Kabor Project
6-29-2016 | The Al'Kabor Project
7-13-2016 | The Al'Kabor Project
7-27-2016 | The Al'Kabor Project
8-10-2016 | The Al'Kabor Project
8-24-2016 | The Al'Kabor Project

I couldn't paste more than two of the patch notes due to character limitations.

Oh plus there's an expansion they've been working on coming in under a month.

All P2002 updates since June:
Database

  • *Thul Tae Ew Despolier- spawngroup fixed
*Gimlick Cogboggle Faction fixed- he should attack maze mobs now
*Maze mobs should attack as normal now
*Aggro range is increased for all CT mobs
*CT Mobs with low hps have been corrected
    *Toxiferous has correct model now

Devs are "working on" a new client along with Luclin but they still don't have Cazic Thule, Innoruuk, Plane of Mischief... Great priorities.

One of these things is not like the other.

if facts = trigger these days I dont know what to think. p2002 is subpar in comparison to takp no matter how you look at it. But hey, keep trying to promote it with vegetables and shit.

Lol you can't come into another server's thread and shill, then call people out as if they were the twats in this exchange when they respond. Just for that, I'm gonna not try 2002.

Links in OP fixed as I just realized that the Great Forum Merge of August 2016 fucked up my post.

tell me one way that p2002 is better than takp
It's a great place to play if you want to exploit mechanics that the devs don't know how to fix. Like druid/shaman CH generating zero hate.

This is how one of our TAKP devs shows his work: EQLive Hate List Logic and Spell Hate Values - EQEmulator Forums

This is how p2002 "devs" show their work:
Looks like in 2002 clerics had the same complaint:

Healing aggro discepency - Cleric vs Druid - EQ Cleric Forums

I'll continue to do research to see when/if it was resolved, or if the aggro component was part of SoE's efforts to group druids more, since at PoP era when they decided to give shm/dru heal spells, cleric was the ONLY viable healer, and it was an attempt to get druids more groups, and shamans the ability to actually heal.

Looks like research shows that healing aggro is based off the base1 number... in CH's case it's 7500, most direct healing spells it's between 700-1000, and dru/shm CH it's 75... HoT spells sit at a cool 10.

This would seem to support all the theories, both from era and from here, which means that it was always an intended mechanic.

^^ lol completely wrong
