I kind of want Samuel L Jackson to release a blues album. Also totally suggest this movie if you haven't seen it, even if it looks fucking ridiculous.

Hokum Blues (AKA: the dirty blues) : I'm always listening to this stuff...

Hound Dog Taylor: Easily one of my favorites blues/boogie musicians...

Never heard of this guy until a guest mentioned him on Joe Rogan podcast. Stuff starts out pretty normal then holy shit. He's somewhere between Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix but without the mega distortion effects.

Some of these runs are fucking incredible but I've never heard anyone mention him ever...

Roy was an amazing guitarist.

Surprised but not surprised you've never heard of him though, he was very well known within certain music circles and by guitarists, but he turned down the Rolling Stones and never really took off musically before dying sooner than he should have. He never really got the chance to do anything with the blues revival of the late 80s early 90s.

Also a lot of the stuff you'll find actual recordings of is pretty mellow/bluesy/etc. but he could rock as well:
