Directed by the guy who directed Casino Royale. Has Jackie Chan ever played a bad guy in a movie? Looks pretty interesting, like Asian vs Irish Taken.

Releases Oct 13th in USA, late Sept in EU.

I'm glad movies like this and John Wick are coming back in style, simple revenge thrillers with no stupid plot twists and overblown narratives.

This is a really disjointed movie. The action is pretty horrible.

Now you must understand i literally grew up watching HK Cinema w/ Jackie as my top two American Inventors. However i don't consider anything Rumble in the Bronx and beyond, remotely watchable.

The star of the show is obviously Jackie... however he has limited screen time, instead they focus more on the worst James Bond w/ a horrible leprechaun accent.

Too many white ppl, it's a fucking discombobulated film.

dumb terrorist plot with grade school "mystery"

You want to see Jackie kick ass? first you'll have to see a bunch of white ppl talk for 20minutes. Jackie pops in for 3minutes, and the MORE WHITE PPL

You're expecting Jackie BOURNE??? well you have vomit cam at least.

You want Law Abiding Jackie? well he does that... a super trained bad ass... hip hops around knocking ppl unconscience

Again, too much white ppl, really it's a dumb terrorist B-grade movie "plot"

Who the fuck gives a shit about the dumb fuck leprechauns bombing the bad teeth fucks eating fish n chips?

literally no one, TOO MANY WHITE PPL

i went to buy tix to geostorm today and decided to see a movie, it was between The Foreigner and seeing Blade Runner 2049 for the third time (it leaves IMAX/Dolby theaters around me tomorrow). I picked Blade Runner, sounds like I made the right choice

....well, he's 63, so I'm not sure what you were expecting? The man has had everything happen to him, even his cheek bone has been dislocated. I'm surprised he can do anything at this point.

It was a decent movie, suffered from some silly plot shit but overall it was ok. I do think you wouldn't lose anything if you just waited to rent/pirate.

Had it been a little darker it could have been better I think, but I'm surprised they even got him to do some of the things at all.

Your missing the point that it was too much white ppl all the damn time.

Also Jackie is still fine at 63, he was training the actors and is still as nimble as fuck

If you want a movie that the trailer did not make this out to be, you will of course be disappointed. This is a perfectly fine "revenge" drama though, a la Taken, Equilibrium, Man on Fire. Not the best, not the worst, but I didn't regret seeing it. The trailer pretty much shows what it is: a bunch of sneaking around politics-style and some bombs and occasionally people getting hurt. It's not a HK film and not trying to be, it's not even a martial arts or action film at all. And again, not trying to be.

Basically everything Lanx said is based on the premise that this should be your average Jackie Chan movie, but it isn't, so he thinks it sucks, I thought it was solid and JC did a great job in it.

If they removed Jackie Chan from the movie the plot would of played out exactly the same.

If feels like they made a subpar terrorism movie about the IRA and was like "Fuck how can we sell this to china" I know! Add a Jackie Chan subplot.

That is usually the point of a plot, yes.

Why did anyone think this was gonna be a feel-good Jackie Chan stunt-fest? Nothing about the trailer or synopsis or anything gave that impression. I realize he typecast himself pretty hard over the years but he has branched out a couple times and this is one of those. He has enough pull now to only do what he wants to so clearly he was into this.

That's not what a fucking plot is.

If Oskar Schindler died in the first five minutes of the movie, the Jews don't get saved.

If Neo chose to take the blue pill we don't get any Kung Fu.

If Jackie Chan died in the first explosion of the movie literally nothing would of changed.

All the other characters would of met the same ends because Jackie Chan did absolutely nothing to advance the plot....nothing.

All he did was hide in the fucking woods and blow up cars.

So since the protagonist is basically not in the movie you are left with a watered down "thriller" aka Pierce Bronson talking to people on phones.....

It's shit.
