The Wire

The Wire is awesome, but it's hard to compare genres and are we talking about overall or at peak? Arrested Development and the first 2 seasons of Archer are likely my favorite series, but if you want to stay in genre or at least stay in dramatic series anyways, I'm not entirely sure how I'd sequence The Wire, Deadwood and Breaking Bad. Also if you just make it any sort of TV series and include Mini Series, I'd say that Band of Brothers is probably the best single thing in the history of television.

Game of Thrones is decent

Hard to say for sure, but Seinfeld, Wire, Band of Brothers, Chappelle show, and Deadwood are definitely my candidates for best ever. Possibly in that order, depending on my mood.

Honorable mention to Deep Space 9 and The West Wing, but I would certainly not say they are 'the best', more like they are my favorite shows to re-watch.

Lost, definitely Lost.
