Met Nino at one of the early Vanguard expos that was really Brad partying on Microsoft cash in vegas. Stand up guy and good composer, to boot. Was great talking shop with him about music composition and what he did to make it work.

They plugged it a few years ago.

The emulator is also dead in the water without a leaked/ripped DB from SOE/Daybreak offices. As far as playability goes.

Emu is still good for seeing the world again.

I am pretty sure they would sell it to someone if they could get what they want for it. That price is probably more than anyone is willing to pay.

They did fix major issues throughout the life cycle, it wouldnt be bad as a TLP like EQ. We need a Jeff Bezos who played EQ to make all these pipe dreams come true for us.

The ask would be 1m to 1.5m at the low end. It's priced out of anyone realistically being able to buy it.

That's pretty much the case with any major corporate-owned IP. They have a balance sheet and need to recoup debt and they also have models of sales and projections of value of what the IP "COULD" be worth if revived properly, and that goes into the ask price as well. Vanguard is still well over a million dollar IP.

I do miss this game sometimes. WoW classic is alright but it makes you realize just how good the class design was in VG. The game was really fun before the lvl 55 update. Krassus you remember having to farm guards from some city instead of regular mobs b/c it was the best xp? What a shitty fucken update that was.

The combat in VG was just the right amount of WoW. Enough spice and variation and class design to keep combat interesting and engaging without feeling repetative or chore-like.

It was clean, crisp and played amazing. No other MMO since has come to close to capturing the Vanguard combat.

Yeah the Arabian Night looking city. Then they found out we were farming “old” content and nerfed the exp to hell to force us to that horrible fucking island they wanted to be the “new” content. And then that shitty little Underground temple or whatever where we had to farm armor. Man that update was terrible. Fuck Silius.

Has any other MMO done a Vanguard paced combat system? Fairly slow w/ reactive skills? It is strange to me that EVERY MMO seems to go the keyboard DDR route and none that I can think of right now successfully implemented the slower more tactical style.

Seems like a market gap to me
