Not every game needs to provide everything otherwise it’s just an amalgamation of watered down dogshit.

Faggots and queers can play Minecraft and base build all the gay ass housing they want.

Turbo queers and homosexuals can play pokemon instead of fucking pet battles

You don’t need to add inferior dogshit tacked on to your game for greater appeal in the end you appeal to fucking nobody with a hollowed out soulless game.

Then again the guy who occasionally fails are LFR loves player housing color me shocked I am sure he’ll buy a player housing funkopop and stream about it.

When people reminisce about WoW it’s usually about Wrath and the awesome dungeons, raids, and having a blast with old guild mates they certainly don’t talk about capturing a blue gobblegook to battle a purple fuckitwasit or planting some ferns in their little house on the prairie faggot garden.
You're mistake here is that you think Blizzard/Activision/Microsoft are focusing on producing a good game and it's objectively provable that they aren't. They're focusing on getting as many people as possible to dedicate as much screen time as possible into THEIR game. And with WoW they're driving a trifecta that no new game now can even think of:

Correct their goal is to appeal to the largest possible audience they think they can obtain, it boils down to the simple fact when you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one.

Sometimes it’s better to stick to a lane and max it out.

They tried that when Ion wanted to cater to the sweatlords. Oh wow, what a surprise, most of their population aren't sweatlords and they bled a fuckton of players because the non-sweatlords had nothing to do. People also got sick of "borrowed power". When a game is that old, there is only so much you can do carrot wise to keep the playerbase engaged beyond the abused spouses who will keep playing the game no matter how dogshit it becomes.

If you don't want a house, don't get a house. It's not like they're deleting a raid because of housing. Plus if you loot a housing item, you can sell it and make easy gold for something that is functionally worthless to you but has value to others, which you can use to buy raid shit.

I went so far as to get a plot next to my wife's and put a base house there. I think I put a wagon next to the house.
I went inside and put some furniture in one room, but honestly it's just not that interesting to me so it's been sitting ever since.

Although apparently I've "leveled up" my house from things I'm doing in the new expansion which also get "House XP" for whatever reason.

Now, I will also say, I remember as far back as Vanilla there was a non-functional "raid portal" type entry grated off in Stormwind the devs specifically said "that's where housing will be". And this was 2 decades ago. So it's not like this is just a recent idea to put in. A lot of players have wanted guild halls or personal housing for a long time.

That's my only problem. The whole community/neighborhood part feels disconnected. I got "house xp" and no idea what I did and and for things like gathering, doing WQs you get "community tickets" you have to pick up from a chest in the housing area and there are even achievements strapped to it.

Havent played, but housing does look really cool. Not that I'd ever take the time myself.

That was pretty good, reminds me of 90's fantasy animes with the art style and music for the opening of an episode.

I wouldn't mind an animated series about a group of characters experiencing WoW from the beginning and through expansions over several seasons, honestly. You can even make the Shadowlands season suck ass and call it a meta joke.

Knowing Activision-Blizzard, they’d mess up the business deal. Supposedly they tanked an animated Overwatch series during the peak of its popularity because they wanted too much money

First time in a very long time i've tried retail. I'm surprised how much they stop you now from degening. I've maxed out all crests except myth & you have to set aside 80 for each crafted item if you want 272 or 289. Tier 11 delves stop giving you anything good after you use the 6 coffer keys which you can do in one sitting. Everything else is time gated except for mythic+, which can be hard to push high keys unless you got lucky with gear the first few weeks. I'd probably have like 500 hero crests if they didn't cap it.

Have you not played since like.... wrath? Thats been the formula forever. Time gate everything to both stop the world first/mythic racers and create addiction via FOMO on dailies.

I played a little bit of WoD and Shadowlands, but they were both so bad I never got to the end game loop. Its also crazy how insanely spammy combat has become, idk what the solution to it is that wouldn't piss off the community.

To be completely fair, they mostly changed the model from actual daily quests to bi-weekly world quests some years back, though there's still so much FOMO bullshit in the game it's a small step, but it's nice to know you can skip a day or two and still be able to do your quests.

This is true however they added so much weekly stuff with midnight: Soiree, prey, tons of delve achievements, 10 factions to grind, all those with lots of things to buy if you are a mount/toy/pet/furniture collector, Stormarion Assault, Abundance, the harandar heritage thingie (forgot name) etc. I never had to play so many hours to keep up per week if I wanted to do everything (M+, PvP, Raiding). Feels a lot like pressured spare time work to me right now, tbh. On top of that camping rares, leveling progressions Arcantina quests.
If you are a nolifer WOW is in a good spot right now, for "2 hours evening dads" it's "pure hell" one guildie said.
And they already announced 12.0.5 "end of april/may". Yes, all of that is FOMO-driven design. I bet we will see "daily login rewards" after the inevitable console launch.
