Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

Can I interest you in three for $80 or four for $98.98? Seems baseline absurd this is two separate games. That odds of that being sustainable are tiny.

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

    1) has the development of the game turns into a real cult at this point? 2) Someone should be creating a documentary on this entire thing.

I did not say to fund his start up. I meant for him to use the money to support himself while he gets the business going and making sure the actual funds raised for starting the business go to making the business not sustaining his lifestyle.

I have missed out on a lot of the details due to lack of caring, but one of my first start ups, I was the lowest paid person in the company. I think I was making $1000 a month gross salary. The money was obviously better spent on other employees and other things. If he really did keep the...

Asheron's Call 2, Brand New Server Dawnsong Turbine bringing back!

Ac2 had all kinds of issues but it is still easily in my top 5 mmogs of all time. I was in a guild with a couple wow developers who I used to exploit kill dragons with and they would talk about the game they were working on. My biggest issue with turbine is the way they handled exploiting...

Nothing more silly in the mmog criticism sphere than essays on how artwork for a game is wrong. While I am a bit biased because the quality of the artwork is not that big of a deal as it relates to the quality of a game. There are actual fundamental reasons why game screenshots are a pretty...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

The reality is maybe there is a market that could support a one million dollar game. Things get trickier though when you talk about how it will work. In three to four more years is a fifteen dollar monthly charge for a game (instead of forum access) make sense? This debate keeps going back...

You are confusing what a big ks campaign is to what would actually signify a high level of interest for the development of an mmog.

30 plus member development teams and budgets over eight million. I don't feel like they have a handle on the scope of what such a game really would need to be.

I was trying to reply in the other thread and thought I lost privileges for being awesome. I guess it makes sense since this is a new chapter and what happened during the ks is wholly irrelevant to the project moving forward. It is not like there was a lot of real game development discussion...

Curiosity more than interest, even. I think if they had a concise mission statement that outlined the scope of the game in harsh specifics people could have used that to share the word for the game. Then you might have been able to rally the 5k-10k people who realistically would pay to play...

Yeah I don't get it. I can't even get the tier / price I pledged on ks. Which is all I would even consider at this point on their website and pulling the trigger on that would require time, convincing and soul searching. I think in could get it for like twice as much but I am not sure.

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I think people way overestimate how many people were attracted to check out the ks and passed just based on the quality. I suspect most views were more nostalgic curiosity than anything else. Most people who likely checked it out were not going there with the intent to donate and were unlikely...
