I think your score is good for that resolution and that video card. Chysamere for sure isn't running that resolution with a score near 10k using a 460. At 1920x1200 on maximum settings I scored 8700ish using a 580gtx. Using SLI I scored 15398. They have definitely done some optimization though...

If you bought the client during 1.0 you don't need to buy it again for 2.0 release and I believe they are giving people 30 days free time (though that may just be people who bought the CE, I'm not 100% sure) so I don't think it's a matter of wanting to give them more money right away. That said...
