And the AI consolidation begins: https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/spacex-buy-cursor-ai-coding-103445855.html This makes all the sense in the world to me. Musk is a fucking lunatic but he's essentially always ahead of the curve and X AI just isn't really in the conversation as a...

    Gravy's Cooking Thread

I've been doing a lot of veggie side dishes that are good as cold leftovers lately. One of my favorites is spinach with garlic, feta and pine nuts (and occasionally I soak some golden raisins in water for about an hour and add those). I just quickly blanch the spinach then use a potato ricer to...

If you slow cook Oxtail correctly yes, it is one of the tastiest parts of the cow. Fork tender and lots of natural flavor. It's way tastier than any Prime Rib or Tenderloin.

I used to be able to get Ox tail for $2.99/lb in ~2020 and it was very easy to find. It's now $13.99/lb if I can even find it, and usually its the smallest pieces that are essentially all bone and almost no meat. Which sucks because it's one of the tastiest parts of a cow.

This is technically how we are "supposed" to do it but thats not what im talking about. I'm saying that Claude cowork will do exactly that with less token usage and less "meandering" than Claude Code will.

This is shortsighted, you're speaking in today's pricing terms. This is the point I am making.

To add to that, as a separate post just to talk specifically about how Claude Code operates. It does things you never asked it to do. It needs access to a repo to work so it can pretend it needs to also write test harnesses and cases to check its own work and then refactor 2, 3, 10 fucking times...

That is the grift. Claude Code (and all the different models on the Anthropic platform) are the most egregious out of all of them from what I've experienced first hand. And they can get away with that, because as of right now, Anthropic has the best models. AI is packaged and sold as automation...

Why use Claude code for that? And are you using Opus, Sonnet or Haiku? You'll use, very literally, like 1/100th the tokens for that kind of task using Claude Chat with Haiku

What are you using that this is the case? It's the opposite with ChatGPT and Claude. Claude Code GUZZLES tokens but Claude Cowork, and especially Claude Chat use very little in comparison. In fact, for most coding scenarios I reverted entirely away from Claude Code because I don't actually need...
