Lol it's so crazy to remember when 40 people was a zerg. How far we've fallen...

Speaking of Xanupox, back when Fippy/Vulak launched I came back to EQ after a hiatus of like 9-10 years. I promptly made my guild and started playing. Along the way I met Xanupox, not knowing who he was and he pretty much spent three days ranting to me about how much he hated FoH and how this server was going to be his big shot at revenge. He was in the old foh forums chat channel on those servers and got me into them, and that's how I went from random lurker to creating an account and eventually to posting here.

I have not heard from him since his master plan failed. Wonder what happened to him.

Asking legit, was there a bigger profile or more accomplished guild than FoH in EQ? I was never in a top tier guild and I wasn't on Veeshan but I still followed what FoH was doing. I know Afterlife and Triton but that's mostly because I heard about them here.

When FoH was at it's peak/most active I don't think there was anyone save maybe one or two guilds on other servers even in the same ballpark. I think FoH was probably by a large margin the most accomplished during their time.

Oh, VeeshanVault. Also, I fucked up and added an A to Valhall. Forgive me, Sajko.

No I thought you were correct...Valhalla? I used to have a badass rogue friend in that guild. Been 15 years though, definitely could be Valhall.

Fiend for life.

Pro'Vannor

Were you a dwarf rogue? I played with you a few times. Think you actually helped me with my epic a little bit on my rogue alt.

Sorry double post

I think only Triton and Legacy of Steel, right?

I think all servers had their tiny bits of drama.

I know Solusek Ro had it's share of backstabbing douchebaggery that was going on between VVV, Paradigm, Darkwind and HOSS - and whatever other guilds were on the top of the pyramid at that time.

E'ci was a lot of fun. We got to compete with the #1 Asian guild, Heroes of the Orient.

Reconstructed 4 life

Oh, then towards GoD release everyone in Recon quit and the "top" U.S. raiding guild was the terribly shitty "public raiding" guild that was <Infinit>. Maybe I'm not giving Arete enough credit but I feel like I remember the majority of them quitting for WoW around the time we did also, which would definitely just leave Infinit.

I wasn't in them when they were on Veeshan, but Azure Guard was supposedly like a second or third tier guild there (according to the guild leader, after she rebooted the guild on P99)
IIRC, Azure Guard merged with Obsidian Overlords to become Obsidian Guard shortly before Kunark. I'm not sure of the exact date, but the guild was definitely OG by the time I joined.

We had some great players: Adex Xeda, Voronwe, Aslanna, and Winnow immediately spring to mind, but Moogy/Elex was possibly the worst guy to lead a guild ever. Every time a solid raiding crew would coalesce, he'd pull some bullshit like insisting one of his toons get the super rare, super powerful drop even though he showed up to maybe 1 raid in 5, the people who'd actually put in the work would get pissed and leave. Aslanna and Winnow ended up in CT, Adex FOH, and even Voronwe finally dipped for COE in Luclin or PoP.

We were also the first guild to get steamrolled on Ragefire, trying to get a guy named Oter his cleric epic. I was there clearing trash outside the spawn room when CT showed up.

The whole fucking server hated CT. Whatever you thought of FoH, CoE, or CD, you could take them at their word and deal with them. As someone who lead a B tier guild (too casual, never made it above 30 people and PoP ultimately made me hang it up along with getting engaged), I always felt I would get a fair shake out of nearly any A team guild on the sever.... except Complete Tools. Even the ones we hated and hated us would keep to the code. FYI I gave Xerx the haste sword for the mecha cazic incident. It was mostly due to having CT try to steamroll multiple friends over the clicker and having them lagging the fuck out of ToV wiping to Guardian Wurms screwing our Dozer runs.

A Tier Guilds on Veeshan FoH > CD > CoE > Valhalla > Legion > Ixtlan > Tess Era CT (when they were respectable). Anyone else on that list is even gimpier than my guild was and at least we got halfway through PoP with 30 before CoE absorbed our core people (my idea, I was about to retire). I say this without bias, because a lot of people in those guilds and I had a mutual despising of one another, but at least word given was word kept (unlike CT).

Casual Guilds, I don't want to give any order, because I would show my bias, but there were many good ones that fed talent into the top dogs, some of whom I can no longer recall, but my faves were: Azure Guard (solid dudes), Obsidian Guard, Corps, and Outriders of Karana. Best Asian guild ever was Ted Club.
