We have a rule in my household, and I established it when we were dating. Took it from Everybody loves Raymond. The AIS rule. (Ass In Seat). If her ass is not in the seat at the time I communicated we are leaving, I leave. I did it a few times and she of course got mad, but it nipped it in the bud while we were dating and now we are 15 minutes early to everything. I am from the school if you are not 15 minutes early, then you are late.
Now we have a kid, and sometimes we are a little late due to her, but once she gets old enough to understand, I will AIS her ass as well.

Any time there's any sort of productivity related to the physical universe I make sure my wife is completely removed from the scenario with no chance of influencing any point in the process.
I was once soldering copper in the basement so it was dripping forever. Had told wife not to use water. So after waiting like 30 minutes for the pipe to dry and getting close, she opens up a faucet and dumps a slug of cold water in my face. I shrug it off. Within a minute later another and then another. She was going to every sink to see if any of them worked because she thought I had turned the water back on but forgot to tell her because I'm forgetful.
Anymore with holding or a 3 handed operation I'll either ask a neighbor or rig something to do it. There is inevitably some completely unforeseen way that she'll hurt herself and completely destroy the project as a result of one of my character flaws.
