I still don't really get what this game is all about.

The only reason why I am not writing it off right away is because of Battlefield 1. I know, different development teams, but maybe there is a sliver of hope to start releasing non shit in a box again. Will wait for reviews and see what shakes out of it.

Pretty much. I'll be waiting a while after release for reveiwers I trust. Which is hard since it's one of my favorite series from a developer that used to be a favorite. We'll see how much they've been swallowed by identity politics in this game.

If they iterated on ME3, then I can't see the gameplay being anything short of superb. I'm not playing the game to get offended, so I can't be arsed to judge it based on perceived SJW ideas, however a shitty writing is a shitty writing. Hopefully this time they can avoid the danger of overexplaining stuff - Reapers were the best in ME1.

It reminds me too much of DAI which hasn't aged well at all. It even sounds like they are using the same sound effects from DAI when you would close those breaches lol.

3 months from release and we still don't have a proper trailer or that much concrete information about the game. I have high hopes but Bioware isn't exactly inspiring confidence. Thier marketing so far screams "we've made a shitty game and just need to it get out there without spending too much money" not "this is our next AAA blockbuster that will spawn a new series of games and rekindle gamer's love for Mass Effect."

This game is on my radar since I just bought a PS4 pro. I didn't play ME3 until after the extended ending was released so I wasn't too enraged. Hopefully this game pulls through, but not hopeful. Will be waiting to see what the consensus us before I purchase it.
My expectations were tempered after the garbage that was Mass Effect 3. They cut so many corners in that game and then tacked on an ending that completely undermined the narrative.
