Do you think if all boxes off BF2 were required to display "This game contains gambling for content. In order to progress, most players will want to purchase content obtained by gambling. The average cost to own all content at time of release is estimated at $2100." that sales would suffer?

That's nothing more than the truth, but if actually admitted would be detrimental.

This gambling for loot system that exists throughout the gaming world is as bad as the meth epidemic.
Fuck them all in their face for tricking generations with thier bullshit.
Taking advantage of the stupid/unaware like this is pretty fucked up.
I know far too many dummies that have fallen hook-line-sinker for pay to win scemes.
This is where regulations should have come into play long ago.
Hopefully it's something that gets formerly addressed in the next 10 years, but I doubt it.

A lawyer could credibly make that argument. The counter argument would be that you aren't paying for killing the npc and the loot...but a counter to that may be that you are paying a sub.
Lawyers and gov't...any argument could be twisted to make it true.

Yeah even with rocket league it’s completely frustrating to spend 10 bucks on keys to open crates and get a set of wheels I already have, and then nine of the same damn rare decals. I would much rather pay 9.99 to get the 10 cosmetIcs i actually want.

Same. I just can't be bothered with dealing with a roulette spin, it kills any enthusiasm I have for microtransactions which in themselves aren't a necessarily bad thing. It's how it's sold to you.

Maybe we can end up thankful to EA for trying this with such a high profile brand like Star Wars. If they had introduced that only in generic, nerd only settings it might have gone under the radar, but legislation due to Star Wars Online Casino will affect everything.
