170 sounds high. Not saying it won't do it but Deadpool was considered pretty damn big opening at 150+ at the same spot in the calendar. But it was rated R so ...

But yeah, Marvel was smart in essentially using the first IW trailer to indirectly promote BP by showing a lot of Wakanda in it. Some of the people excited for IW who may not have been all that interested in BP for whatever reason are gonna be a little more inclined to check it out anyway because of the obvious connection.

It's gonna work the other way as well. There are probably quite a few people for whom BP will be the first comic book movie they will have seen in a while, perhaps ever. Getting them invested in Wakanda and it's major players will make them want to see what happens there in IW.

Pretty good Black Panther review .... kinda.

Saw it tonight, 6/10, can't really think of anything to say about it.

Was in the elevator from the cinema car park and a black father and son got in. I thought "they must be here for Black Panther too" but instead they headed into the Nando's (Portugese chicken restaurant chain).

There's a few "Oppressor" and "colonialists" thrown around

Thought about it some more, Black Panther is basically mcu Dare Devil but with a fancy suit and tech.

The movie is a sub standard mcu film, definitely not the 9 or 10/10 the reviews say it is.

Not full on social justice, there's some stuff relating to Wakanda and the ROTW but nothing heavy handed

Most of the conflict is inter Wakanda which is pretty funny because that's what Africa was like pre white man

official opening isn't till tomorrow, there are like 6 citys doing screenings tonight for Disney D-23 gold club members
