My Collectors edition won't be here till Tuesday :(

It's not necessary to have played XC1 before XC2(both have a self-contained story) but you may as well as there is some easter egg references to the the first game. Though there is a new epilogue story in the XC1 remake that might tie things together, not 100% sure.

Anyone mess with the Vulkan renderer? Ran a few maps and it is noticeably smoother for me. I can actually watch a stream on my second monitor now without the weird microstutter shit I used to get before.

I used awakened poe trade this league and it worked pretty well. Not nearly as intrusive as the overlay, that was a turn off for me.

Berseria is pretty good, characters aren't annoying kids which is great. Stay away from Zestiria, it's regarded as one of the bad ones.

Binged season 1 of Ascendance of a Bookworm, pretty enjoyable. Reminded me a bit of Spice and Wolf. Can catch up to season 2 now.

DQ11 is great. There is a charm to it that stuff like FF12 lacks.

Valkyria Chronicles is pretty good if you enjoy SRPGs.

Nintendo first party stuff rarely goes on sale, just how it's always been. Though at this point I'd just wait and play the XC1 remake, there is some tie in with XC2.

I dunno, XSEED lost some key people who worked on CS1+2. Outside of a few item descriptions the localization for CS3 was fine.

Honestly it's pretty recommended to have played every Trails game before you play CSIII. You can find fan translated versions of the Crossbell games on the high seas, I played through them last year with no issues.

Played all three and I'd go XC2 or DQ11. Your enjoyment of XC2 depends on how well you can handle modern anime stuff imo, I know for some it can be a turn off. DQ11 is pretty solid and the Switch port has some really nice QOL features.

Incursion was one of those things that really shouldn't have been added to core.

Yeah I thought that was a CGI edit or stand-in. I'd go back and take a second look but don't think I can stomach going back to S8 for any reason heh.
