To me, no different than killing an npc in Dark Souls. It's not alive, it's just a simulation of a human.

What's so evil about treating a machine like a machine? They aren't supposed to be sentient. I mean, yeah, with the way AI is portrayed in fiction it's easy to believe that they have human emotions, but they really don't. It's why I have a love/hate with this kind of sci-fi.

Problem is, he doesn't know how to change it. Either Eobard did something, or it's some stupid Time side effect. Not really enjoying this season. They should just change the name of the show to "Emotional Crisis on Infinite Earths."

Enjoyed the second ep as much as the first. Only issue I have is the chic who speaks horrible english. I feel like all her scenes are rather bland and unecessary, or that could just be her acting that feels that way. Just stands out really bad considering how well everyone else is doing.

Yes, but still part of the park. The way the new guy was acting, he'd never seen a host/robot before.

But Joe and Barry's dad were friends before Barry's mom is murdered. Yet, he never met Iris before (when they were kids) and told her that he only knew Joe from work. Does not compute.

Problem with dealing with non-real tech in science fiction, the tech will do whatever the writers need it to. Also, while they may have a consultant or two, I doubt any of the writers has a serious grasp on the limitations of computer programming. Probably just rely on what they've seen/read in...

It's because of the era of movies/tv we live in, we all expect twists in everything we watch, so we don't trust the narrative. It's gotten quite annoying. You don't need an omg twist to tell a good story.

    The Flash

Yeah, I don't get this new Iris issue bullshit, everything should be as it was. Is Time punishing Barry for fucking with the past? Bleh. Also, I'm confused. In the alternate timeline, Barry and Iris didn't know each other, and he only knew Joe from work (let's ignore the silly fact that Barry...

Yep. And how Harris knew exactly how much "blood" he could drain without killing the host he was interrogating.

They breathe, but it's just to appear human, I doubt they need to. I would think they don't "die" they just shutdown/go into "death mode" when something happens to their body that would kill a human. So, just simdeath.

To possibly refute my own statement, I just noticed that the title of the premiere is "The Original." Edit: Yeah, I'm probably wrong, just rewatched the scene between Harris and Dolores, what he says to her does seem to imply that she's been around that long.

    The Flash

In the comics (from the wiki) Clariss gets his superspeed from a serum he creates, supposedly the same one that Jay Garrick uses, but he doesn't get credit for it, etc. So, chemistry/alchemy. I assume.
  18. Raes

    Westworld

I could be wrong, but I doubt Dolores is 30 years old. Pretty sure back then they were using the older models like "Old Bill." Still, it's possible that she was around then and has just had parts upgraded/replaced, but it's usually more efficient to just build a new model.

    Marvel's Luke Cage

Yeah, switching out his leather jacket for a coat and shades wasn't enough. Give him a wig, a beard, something. Plus the fact that he's like the ONLY white(ish) member of the entire main cast made him even more noticeable, they needed to do something to distance him visually from his SoA role.

I guess you missed the last scene. The guy in bed woken up by the evil voice was Rival aka Edward Clariss.

    Marvel's Luke Cage

I agree about Rossi being miscast. I can see what kind of character he is supposed to be, and it just doesn't work. It got really highlighted when he would say certain lines, lines that should have been coming out of the mouth of someone older, more menacing and more self-asured. I also didn't...

Agreed. "Go faster" "You can do it" " I believe in you" has been old for a while. Part of the problem with superspeed is that only other speedsters can really challenge him, except they don't, because he can always go faster than them as long as someone believes, lol. I've really enjoyed the...

"Speaking of which, what about the rules of Westworld? In the show, the theme park has the rule that “you can’t kill anyone you’re not supposed to.” Nolan detailed the specific safeguards in place: “It’s not the guns, it’s the bullets. We thought a lot about this. In the original films, the...

I've been wondering about that, too, I assume it has to be some kind of smart bullet. When Teddy shoots at Harris, you can see some type of impact from each bullet, like a puff of dust from his coat.

Enjoyed the premiere. Thought the "Old West" versions of modern songs were done pretty well. Casting, acting and writing all seem damn good too. Only complaint is that I can't binge it. Got a kick out of the show writers making the Westworld script guy an idiot. First thing I thought when he...

It was quite cheap of them to have the crew finding out he had taken his memories back and him then convincing them to help him regain his throne, all happen off camera. I'm 5 episodes into this and it's just...not good. It has a decent cast and production value, and the premise is ok, but it's executed very poorly. Really needed a script doctor.
