There was a time when Win10 would see monitors connected by DisplayPort as being disconnected when the went to sleep. Ever since then I just turn my monitors off when I'm away from the desktop.

True. This is as good an excuse as any for an upgrade if you're willing to spend the money. A real upgrade will not be cheap and you're rolling the dice as to how quiet the prebuilt will be. If it was me, I would put the guts in a bigger, better case, replace the fans and maybe the CPU cooler...

Swapping out the video card is simple. You just have to make sure to seat the power cable on the 4000 series properly or you'll burn your house down. No biggie.

Might want to look in to undervolting the 3080ti and see how that goes. Minimal performance loss and costs nothing.

Your hardware is very similar to mine. I'm running a 5800X, 32 GB RAM, 3080 10GB, 1440p main monitor. It's in a Phanteks P500A with 3 140mm Noctuas in front, a 120mm rear and an Arctic LFII 360mm top exhaust. It sits right on my desk and is silent at idle and reasonably quiet under load.

That looks like a Corsair 4000D airflow, which is a decent case for thermals. Are those 120mm fans in the front? I don't know how good the stock Corsair fans are, but some 140mm Noctuas could cut down on noise. I'm guessing the top mounted CPU radiator is 240mm, a 360mm would improve things. I...

An older, slower PC uses less power and generates less heat. That means less cooling is necessary and fans can run at lower speeds. A newer, more powerful machine can definitely be quiet if built correctly. Water cooling for the CPU, a good airflow focused case with bigger fans so they can run...

First off, Desktop Computers for your general desktop building/purchasing advice. Secondly, was the PC quiet enough to start off with and got louder over time? If so, a good cleaning of the internals and repasting the CPU could quiet it down.

I see Lanx has you covered on everything else, but what you're looking for here is a KVM switch. Since those are only 1080p monitors, the cheap ones should do the job. Higher resolution monitors need a switch with more bandwidth that the 4K 60mhz of the cheap ones...

Well, it has gotten warmer in the last couple months in most places. Might want to check temps and maybe fiddle with fan settings.

Those are to move the cooler to be more centered over the hottest part of the CPU. That won't cause changes in performance over time. More likely you have a combination of dust buildup, paste dryout and environmental factors (higher ambient air temps).
