I was watching some reviews of the first two films of this trilogy with some time skips involved and both TFA and TLJ were revised downward by viewers as time went on. TFA specifically has a sorta Phantom Menace trajectory where it took some time but a lot of people soured on it. This one people...

It says something that they went from recording a 4 A.M. review of The Force Awakens the moment they got home with from the earliest screening to upload it as fast as possible to not having a review up at all a couple of days after the release. They've continually rejected the "internet...

If they had thought ahead a little bit (maybe they did this, I don't know and am not looking) and had one track of snake jazz with a little more production behind it like - They could have sold a pile of one dollar downloads at ye old apple store. A snake jazz music video (with mostly looped...

I was thinking about this on the can. One of the reasons that Star Wars (the original) was such a success was that it was just so different. Big budget science fiction wasn't really a thing with the only really comparable being 2001: A Space Odyssey. Typically science fiction was your Logan's...

Finished out 999 exalted AV doing almost exactly all of 52 and all of 53 in the process and looking at WSG I'm not sure I get it. The rep gains look slower for rewards that aren't as good?

Laser sword samurai that reflect bullets is already so much awesomeness without the need to keep cranking up the frame rate.

Doomsday Clock issue 12 came out today finally. It's the conclusion of the Watchmen / main DC continuity crossover sequel thing they've been working on for a while in which we wait to see Superman punch Doctor Manhattan. It's not bad!

It takes the second film before Luke moves any object with the force at all and even then he's staring death by yeti right in the face. The prequels are heavily at fault emphasizing all the fancy acrobatics and mind powers versus what Ben and Yoda teach Luke and what Vader says/does. I've always...

Getting rough out there.

For twenty-five dollars they'll probably let a pretty little thing like you transfer anywhere she wants.

Hey, post your pitches to Disney somewhere else.

He made Brick right? I really like Brick. That movie is great. edit, reading a bit further - He's the Vince Russo of film-making. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShockingSwerve When you're reading a book you really like or watching a television show or movie in addition to the...

The comic is A+, would recommend to anyone https://readcomiconline.to/Comic/Superman-Red-Son

It's not mine :(

It's part of the job to dance when you are told to dance now get out there and sell this steaming pile of shit and SMILE while you do it.

Yeah, it's rough out there.

I'm regretting not doing any AVs until the weekend. It feels like all the fast wins and loses have come to a close as people finished out their rep grind. Every game from late Sunday evening and now this afternoon has been really bad with no rep from Galv and a loss that takes more time than it...

edit - wrong thread

There's a bad trope that I think originated in anime in where a character is presented as childlike in appearance but is totally legal. Oh yeah, that loli is 100% a 2000 year old dragon that just happened to take that particular form. I couldn't not think of that with Fizzy. Her journey is...

Did 51 - 52 and up to Reverered with only a single person getting mouthy about my level and/or shitter mount and that was mostly because I snowballed him off a tower. The community has vastly exceeded my expectations.

Best Terminator story in years, laughed hard a couple of times. They're good lines but I feel like they are being delivered by Dan Harmon to me personally.

Finished all of the Everybody Loves Large Chests books, 1-4. The NC-17 stuff is the weakest part of the series and make it hard to recommend to people I actually know in the physical. As time goes on the books are better written and that stuff is a smaller and smaller percentage of what is...

It sounds like we're going to get the FF4 ending where all is lost before the omni-bad as a parade of all the people we've met appear to give their power to the fallen hero. I doubt it is going to have quite as much Meteo as I would like however.

Using a panorama of past characters to put over your new hero as she takes down a villain we weren't even aware was on the table is so odd. I guess it fits JJ Abrams but I still find it odd. Also -

It Comes at Night, aside from the marketing and title giving you an impression that things come at night (they don't) is alright but it's got this annoying gimmick baked in to the story that really held it back for me. The film doesn't come out and tell you anything. Everything is kept...

I didn't realize how tired I was of him until the mood whiplash I felt from starting the video to his appearance. Sweet, one of their goofy themed Christmas episodes! Oh, it's ruined. I haven't finished it yet but them picking Silent Night Deadly Night 2 feels like they cheated a little to help...

I'm something like four bars to 51 on my fuckaroo character and I'm expecting a toxic mess and afk reporting. Should be fun!

It is unfortunate (predictable, yet unfortunate) that a big part of the Classic experience has been watching every single thing gamed as absolutely hard as possible and then seeing the consequences when these very old systems are pushed to their limit.

Tegridy Farms Christmas Special was pretty good.

It was originally a competition module. I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone running a campaign where story was in the front seat and player character deaths were rare. I can't see ever running a first edition campaign but should something really unlikely occur I'd want to run it as some...

Did they spike the fuse hole or can you sneak over with some black powder and set the fucker off @Regime

Flow My Tears was like an awesome premise and setting but you spend almost all of the book with the main character having long conversations that are not very interesting.

I just rewatched that a month or so ago and it definitely still holds up. It suffers a little bit from tone whiplash as it is both very funny and very dark at times but I think it really pulls it off. If you've never seen Emperor of the North I would recommend that one to you. Lee Marvin is...

I found the loot system to be utterly joyless. A box pops up, you are obligated on each relevant drop to select whether it is an upgrade or your best in slot, and it is handed out. Fair? You betcha. It also completely removes any agency on behalf of the player. If someone was so inclined to do...

Wait wait, have you thought about another guild?
