Gave the go ahead to a company today to install a home generator. Settled on a Kohler after reviewing everything we got back on the bids. 1. $20k for either a Generac or a Briggs. They were trying to push Briggs bc they had a 10-year all inclusive warranty and Generac is a 5-year limited. This...

Bullshit! Right turn, left turn, u-turn. All sorts of turn based action in real life driving!

Fuck you!!!!!

I want to make a YouTube channel called “Shititani Furniture” where I try to remake everything he does. Only it’ll be shitty, because I suck.

Princess Floralinda and the Forty Flight Tower by Tamsyn Muir So I did end up grabbing this novella on Kindle (also looking for a hard copy), and it was really great. It got a little played out by the end, so better that it was a novella and quick easy read. But it is funny and clever and well...

The dress up episode last season was great because you could also tell that the whole cast was having a great time with it. It was cheesy, looked fun, and everyone was completely selling it.

$1.99 a bag... so yeah bought a few haha

About to get my Goldfish on

I thought this was in the same timeline as Discovery, which had an established timeline. But I never watched Disco so was going off bits and pieces of thread on here.

Nona the Ninth - I still really don’t know what to make of this series, but in a good way. It is just so bizzare. There’s been so much time between my readings of Gideon the Ninth and Harrow the Ninth that little details are lost. Once again it took about 46% of the book for things to really...

This season was pretty good. We also just finished rewatching Season 2 and man it is such a huge difference in quality. Like those bozos hazing each other and shaving their heads. At that point the idea of being on a reality show was new-ish and everyone was treating it like Real World and Road...

Yeah I think the curb weight is around 5,000lb? This one is a 5.7L eTorque so not sure if it will be any different than my last regular 5.7L. It got 16 around town and 20.3 I think was my highway average. It took about 5,000 miles for it to settle in because it was lower than that at the start.

$62k - $14k for my RAM (which was $38 from them - $24 left on the note). So financed $48k @ 2.9% which I’ll just try to pay off aggressively like I was the old truck. Just in case a data point is useful for someone else truck shopping. I definitely left money on the table, this is no claim I’m...

I think I sold that exact model at Sears or one with a base very similar!

Yeah that was odd to me too. Other slight disappointment:

As mentioned in the Car thread, decided to trade in my truck and step up. Came out about even versus payments on my 2021 RAM, even with stepping up a trim level. Things that I wanted / needed: - Full crew cab to hold booster seat + car seat now that we have two boys. Making getting them in and...

Rise, Dawn, and War were somewhat underrated or at least under discussed? My memory could be fuzzy about that response. It took me a little while to catch up and see War but it'd be worth going back and watching all 3. Wes Ball did the Maze Runner trilogy and if you're in to your Young Adult...

Nope, stick with it! Yeah as Jox says we're mostly discussing Cradle. So be careful for spoilers :)

Just finished and liked it. Felt like he could have easily run this out to 2-3 more books with how much happened. Made some things feel rushed and less impactful, finished some characters and arcs. There was a lot going on. Hopefully we see more in the Universe. It is great world building and...

Was a good kid that brought it out. 20 years old, very polite. The biggest factor was when my pregnant wife came out and saw how much room was in the Crew Can for getting kids in/out and how easy it was to get in and out herself with the auto running boards. At that point she gave the 100%. Had...

Will be interesting to see how they pull this off. Baby Goose is good though. I didn’t find the book near as good or interesting as The Martian.

Not changing your HDD jumper from Master to Slave. But seriously, I think the only recent (last 10-15 years maybe) thing that wasn’t immediately obvious was when all the thermal throttling stuff was introduced and I had to find the right BIOS settings to keep the chip running hot and not...

For all the bitching I have done in real life about car salesmen and dealerships, my experience today has been pretty positive. Wanted to step up from my current truck in to one with a full back seat b/c our second son is on the way so now I'll need two car seats or a car seat + booster, and...

I think they are, at least from an enjoyability stand point. @Ukerric probably said it all better, but yeah his library is very good. Which is why it was so shocking that Captain was such a hot turd of a book, but also why he gets a pass from me and I’d happily read a book 2.

In Dreadgod he and Yerin went on some heist. I know it was a plot point of that book but I don't think it was as detailed as what this book suggests they stole. Had to do with moving the labyrinth and exits being around other Monarch's territory. Something something. Here they have apparently...

Yeah, with our new baby coming in September it wouldn't be possible this year, but hopefully next just for fun and old time's sake.

Episode 7 of Season 2 and this dude if FINALLY telling people he heard something on the radio...

Question about a line I just read: About 50% in Cladia is talking to Yerin and gang and states “There are Monarchs on the prowl all over Ashwind…” Am I the only one that was under the impression there were only a handful of actual Monarchs around? How could there be enough to be prowling a...

Everything but the ability to get a loan. Poor guy.

ACDF update. Surgery was yesterday morning. Got checked in at 5:30 and was wheeled back at 7:30. Took about 2 hours, I woke up in PACU at 9:45 and was in my room by 12. Honestly I feel about 1,00% better than it seems I have any right to. Could just as easily have went home yesterday if not for...

Hey man, go eat a dick for making me see this thread bumped and thinking a new book was out! Good day sir!

Watched Wreck it Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet the last couple of nights with our son. For starters, why isn't the second one called Ralph Wrecks the Internet? It seems so obvious. Either way, both were pretty good. I'd never seen them before but enjoyed it. Compared to some of the recent...

lol I was just about to turn out the lights and saw @Ritley ’s post and stayed up to get 10% in before my eyes just could last. Was going to get to the point of forgetting what I read and dropping the Kindle on my face.

On a different note I have a side project I was trying to wrap up before surgery on Tuesday which I won't be able to finish. But, I used undermount drawer slides for the first time. While the learning curve was a little more difficult initially they really went in very nice and easy. Next...

Even if you do AGDQ 2023 to AGDQ 2022 though it is down. One year isn't a trend but I'd also disagree with "pretty static at $3m." That's some pretty hard rounding to go up from $2.6M and down from $3.4M. An $800k difference is a 25% drop? Probably a lot of factors. The "engagement" is...

If shipping wasn't a billion and 1 dollars I'd offer to buy a couple and we could all make our own FoH projects!

Mission: Impossible III (6/10): This was way better than 2. It is basically a 10/10 when compared directly. Seems to kick off the "Scenes of Tom Cruise Running" requirement. Lots of running. The bridge scene was immediately memorable, Tom slamming in to the side of the car when the missile hits...

Wow that’s crazy…

I may not be a fireman but I've spent almost 20 years working with them!

Yeah X-Wing taught me all about custom autoexec.bat and config.sys files, and HIMEM.sys.
