Pretty sure you can. I bought the PS3 version this morning, redeemed the code through the account manager, and queued it for download. Then switched to my PS4, did the $10 upgrade and finished the download.

I was able to redeem my codes from my PS3 in the account management section. I couldn't get it work through the store on either console, so you might try there.

For what it's worth, I purchased one of the Seagate hybrid drives, and things seem significantly faster. I haven't timed anything, but load times that were borderline aggravating before are tolerable now (granted I'm only playing the same three games).

If you're a PS+ user all of your saved game data is automatically backed up to cloud storage. I'll be upgrading my HDD today (to the one linked), and it looks to be fairly painless. Swap the drive and sync game data after re-installing the OS. I think it's possible to back up data to USB...

With current drivers, I would say the price/performance ratio of AMD and Nvidia products are essentially equal. Physx is obviously not available for AMD, which hasn't effected many games (although I did kind of miss having it in Borderlands 2). I have gone back and forth between both companies...
