Well add me to the list of people who can't get in. And I really want this game to do well but shit like this make me feel sad for MMOs, not just this game.

When I was trying for Gilg during open beta, I would just restart the game to bypass the waiting 3 minutes. Sure, you have to go through the pain of relogging and restarting but it can be shorter than waiting the three minutes.

Yeah, if you have spent any time on "other games" where leveling might be easier, then its kind of hard to go back. The AA's however, make you feel like you are accomplishing something. This is why I like to play on test. ...or maybe because I'm one of those filthy casuals.

Very impressed with the game. Wish I could join a queue to log on instead of just being told to bugger off. Something tells me though its going to be a while before these server issues are resolved.

Is AB the populated one? As I don't want to devote my life to this, whats an easy class to play and solo? I've tried SK and they seem decent enough but I don't have anything to compare to. Also, I assume this game has merc's as well? Or is that some "gold member only" stuff?

Check your version of Java. I have 64 bit OS and originally got 32 bit java. After upgrading to 64 bit it all went away.

Melee dmg or caster dmg merc. Does one do more damage than the other?

So how long does your character last? I just got a key for this round and want to know if I should really create a character or just slap something together and try it out.

What do they judge a quest's difficulty on? How many skill points you have? I feel like after two weeks of relatively solid playing nothing has really has become "normal" and everything seems to still be "hard" or higher.

Vassal is a really good engine for board games and tabletop games (I.E. Warmachine, Warhammer, etc) but it depends on the module you find and how well it is supported. Vassal itself is not super easy to navigate and at times, can be tricky. Download it and try it out. Its free so if it doesn't...

Sounds to me like I should enjoy the leveling for as long as I can because the end game seems to cater to a niche market.

For whatever stupid reason, I debate $15 dollar purchases like I'm buying a new house. That being said, for a really low price, is this game worth it? Could I at least get like a weeks worth of entertainment out of it?

I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I would suggest trying to skill up frigates, blasters (hybrid turrets), MWD's, afterburners, etc. Anything to make your frigate fly fast around people and hit quick. Frigates are the easy way into PvP.

If you want something simple and easy, look into Carcasonne or Settlers. I give huge recommendations for Galaxy Trucker. It's one of those easy to learn but hard to master ... if anyone actually masters that.

Granted my source sucks, I heard about this on Opie and Anthony (Anthony specifically), but he said that it works great. From the rant that he went on, I would venture a guess to say that it's worth the money. I know I want one.
