A new post is up from Yoshi-P. Apparently the lack of responsiveness (AOE near-hits) in P3 was because server syncing was turned off. The player hitbox has also been reduced to be only at the center of the player. http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...esponsiveness/

Both tanks will be fine. Marauders do more damage than Gladiators, and can be a single target tank with team CC too. Marauders cleave often because damage and healing returns are significant, as long as you don't wipe (bloodbath + zerker + raging strikes + ...) . I do think that Marauder is...

I agree. I think this is largely due to 2.5s casts being familiar. When the spell is done animating, the GCD is up and you can move onto the next. Melee often finish their animation well before the GCD is up and it creates a visual disconnect in the game. Also, if any class needs a lower GCD...

So far, the game only gets better as you hit higher level. The issues could be in the content we haven't been able to see yet. Obviously there are plenty of QoL improvements that can be made, but the dungeons get more interesting and your rotation becomes more varied (but still easy to do).

With how easy everything has been, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the hardcore legacy guilds clears out all available content within a month. Making raiding your endgame is a pretty dangerous method to keep people playing.

The combat is not revolutionary, even a step back from modern systems. The slower pace feels just "alright" once you've put enough time into it. The GCD ensures time for some of the more pleasant animations to come through. Each attack feels really powerful since each ability "counts for more"...

Does anyone have any interest in power leveling their first class during P4? My new computer arrived and I've been planning to rush 50 and stream end-game content, but I can't pick a class to roll without knowing who I'll be playing with/who will also be rushing to cap.

When I specified 2.3-2.5s GCD, I meant for all classes/jobs unbuffed.

I didn't see this posted, but I might have glanced over it:http://rainyautumnskies.wordpress.co...an-expo-paris/ Some tidbits from the interview I found a bit disappointing: I haven't seen anything up to 35 to indicate that combat will become hard. On pugilist, the combat was incredibly...

Even with the amount of gated zones you can see in the world, it doesn't seem like there's nearly enough created world space. There's a lot of promise for "it'll be in at launch" that I'm very skeptical about.

The matchmaker works well, but is primitive feature wise right now. There are no solutions to dealing with bad pugs besides leaving. There's no reason as a tank or healer to stick with a dungeon that is slow or limits their loot options.

The statement about using knockback on pull seriously happens 3/4ths of the duty finders I've been tanking on. People attacking mark #3 when #1 and #2 are up, knockbacks on the mob being killed, people standing in fires... It's pretty bad, probably worse than your typical WoW pug.

This was definitely an issue in the beta phases. Supposedly the duty finder will help, but that doesn't change the fact that DPS will have annoying queues just like WoW.

Positional requirements are easier to manage on lancer (there's less of them). They have a +10% damage buff from flank, and a 180 potency chain starter from the back. Pretty simple. Monks are a little crazier: two stance one abilities, one from back one from flank. Two stance two abilities one...

Flanking requires you to be on either side of the mob, without too much leniency in angle. Back facing requirements have a rather large angle from behind the monster. If you can figure out the angle where back/flank connect, you can pretty easily weave between the two. It's difficult on larger...

Is there confirmation from level 50 jobs about monks being ahead of everyone? I figured that's what would end up happening, including the TP issue. The last boss of Longstep (Aiatar?) would pretty much always starve me of TP towards the end of the fight. I had the same issue on cancer. Right now...

After I finish the last 2 levels on monk, I'm going to level up something from 15 as well. I'd be more than happy to dungeon/fate/hunting log with other people looking to check out the other classes. Does anyone have an opinion on lancer gameplay? I typically play melee DPS/tank so I'm deciding...

Would you like to see a MOBA forum?

Regardless of how big the market gets, there's not much use in spreading out the topics from the main threads right now.

Someone did some testing at 50, and a Monk with 3 stacks of greased lightning (Greased Lightning Bonus: Increases damage dealt by 7% and attack speed by 5%) was only able to drop their GCD to ~ 2.0s. As pugilist, the flow of combat was a bit too slow with a default GCD of 2.5. I'm not asking for...

I must have overlooked them. Another note is that almost everything in the UI can be dragged into action bars. This includes the /beckon emote and raid marks.

It definitely seems that the people trying to power level will need a static group, at least on a population like Marlboro. I played with you guys for a while on Friday (Syia Pokes), but when I hit 32 I found myself going and soloing lower level FATES. I had finished the hunting log besides...
