Honestly this was one of the more playable prepatch launches I can recall. Still some stuff going on but overall I did not have any real major issues last night.

Basically they removed any rep requirements. So it is do whatever the base quest stuff and then do the unlock quest. For some removing the rep requirement basically means you just can go to unlock quest. Some like nightborn if you didn't do the legion suramar stuff you got work to do.

Given they are still doing major balancing patches oct 27 was looking really dubious. But with prepatch out oct 13th that gives them full player loads and testing of abilities and level squish artifacts for a month+ which makes me a lot less nervous.

I suspect we are looking at a turkey day time frame or first week or two of december at worst but I would rather they take the time to do it right than shit up the launch and really piss off people.

Also getting the prepatch a month+ helps sort out any kinks in abilities that are not shadowlands related.

Delaying it for a month or two is probably the right call. There are enough things that need more polish that pushing it out at oct 27 was seeming less and less likely as a good idea. They are still really in the middle of the balance pass of abilities so more time to get that sorted out is...

Ah so they did back it down a bit but basically you can have a totally fine set of gear from crafting of whatever era trips your trigger to get you into shadowlands which is so much better than its been in ages. All eras are viable and useful.

I believe they can all be upgraded to I level 100 basically max crafted item gear is intro raid gear.

One interesting thing is in shadowlands every era of crafting can make items up to level 50 quality. So you could start your shadowlands leveling in vanilla crafted gear and it would be totally fine power wise.

That is I believe normal. You only get transmog credit if it is something of your "armor type" otherwise warriors would basically be the kings of transmogs because they can equip basically everything.

The important of summons and primals kinda osscilates in various FF games but they are standard part of the mix. Being in something that looks like the ff14 world then them being big damn deals makes a lot of sense.

I am not sure if multiplayer died or if the match maker is just really bad/wonky. Somedays I seem to get matchmade pretty decently then others just nothing but then sometimes if I disable/reenable matchmaking suddenly it starts finding people again.
