I wish they could find someone who can do art like Keith Parkinson did, like a student of his or something. The art style of Vanguard is probably my favourite looking MMO. It's like a real life watercolour or something. If you could have that style of art but with a really good engine, I'd be so...

Pretty sure the video is obsolete. It showed up probably 2 or 3 years ago now and since then they made a WoW clone and then decided they didn't want another WoW clone so scrapped it and started another new version. Back to xp potions and stuff (hey everyone else had a go) I dont like the idea...

What bugs me is that people even want them. If the grind is becoming so boring that you would pay to make it go faster, then the game has already fucked up. That was my problem in vanguard, i popped a load of potions to help me get through the boring teens faster, but then I just ended up level...

I really wish EQ Next would work like that. I think buy to play and then cosmetic stuff in the shop is as close to perfect as you can get.

tl:dr - pay2win was a plague we all saw coming a mile off. I am prepared for it! Prepared to tell it to gtfo.

Are you sure? You are probably right, but I hope not. I feel sorry for... well, me, and people like me. Because we never wanted f2p in the first place. We said all along that we were happy with paying a subscription, its no big deal and as we argued a billion times before, its like the price...

I agree. Vanguard without the crappy engine and bugs would be a pretty killer game. There are things I would want to see improve though. I've played Vanguard since release and still play it so I am a fan, but some stuff does bug me:- * Linked mobs, hate them. If some husband/wife team wants...

EQ + Anything would make me really happy. The only other thing I want is a less hand holding world, hard fights (even "trash mobs"), and make it like surviving in a harsh fantasy world, rather than running through a fairytale land kids game blasting stuff with kool spellz. If they do that, they...

I would be fine with no customisation. But I just would prefer to get my hands dirty with some alterations to my class, if possible. Of course, if it just becomes cookie cutter flavour of the month, then it's not worth it anyway. By the way! I thought of something we could discuss which I...

I like this idea of getting rid of DPS because it would give each of the 3 roles far more to do. Enchanters don't just hang around casting slow cripple and occasional mezzes. Healers don't just do whackamole - they could play more like Vanguards healers where they kick ass and that triggers...

I hope so. I like rift because the variety was a nice twist. One minute i was a mage healer, then a mage nuker, and mage support was really fun too. Hard to get bored with all the variety. But individually none of them were as fun as eq. And the casting 10 spells a second thing is just tiresome.

ye the quest grind and then "the game starts at level 50" or whatever needs to die. I want the game to start at level 1 like it does in good mmos. EQ next needs to be like that too.

The slow walk casting in vanguard was awesome. I agree with the person that said having to stop all the time feels really outdated now. In vanguard it wasnt too manic, it just meant that u could tip toe in to position while casting your nuke, really nice. As for the DDR thing, maybe it would...

Yea i dont like cookie cutter or flavour of the month builds either. But even EQ was a bit better because u only had several slots. So you could have 2 necros with identical classes but one might have just a bunch of dots memmed, and the other might have nukes and some utility like screaming...

One more thing, but having zero customisation really takes something away. Like in rift i play a mage and even when i am just doing dps (not healing or whatever) i have different builds for dps. I have a pyro build which is high damage on one target, and i have an ele/storm build which is good...

i thoguht tsw was cool, if they can improve on that it would be great. Only problem with tsw was lack of content, like swtor.

I have some thoughts on this game. I really wish there was more separation between good players and bad players. For example, I was playing Vanguard tonight and we did Greystone which is a high level dungeon (mid 40's). There was a Sorcerer in the group who was really hopeless at his class...

That's all I really know. I read on the web that they restarted the game a year or two ago so that was already common knowledge. And then my guildmate in eq said he has played the alpha very recently and he said it seems impressive. All he said is that it is a bit different to the usual mmos...

it could do maybe, maybe around christmas. It has been in development a long time and even though they restarted it they already had the engine and all the tools ready. My guildmate in eq has played the alpha of it and says its the best mmo has played. Maybe if beta could start in summer and...

The older client does have some weak points. I dont find it to be that big of a deal but there are things i miss. Like with the old one, you can only view one item at a time (when u right click it to see the stats). In the new client it would open up multiple pop up windows showing their stats...
