I just played through Witcher 1 and 2 over the last week. I actually liked both of them. The combat in Witcher 1 takes a bit to get used to but once you do it's fine. The Witcher 2 looks amazing with 2 GTX980's and Ubersampling on.

Sounds like the first half is good but it starts to get old and repetitive at the half-way mark. The Alien isn't on a script which is kinda cool but it pops up way to often and makes the game frustrating and takes away from the scare/tension factor.

Don't worry about missing loot drops. It will be sent to you in the mail after a period of time. No one else around you can see your drops/ammo.
