My Tactician playthrough has now caught up to where I am on my regular Bard-based run. Bard = Gale, Karlach, Wyll Monk = Asterion, Lae'Zel, Shadowheart Stronk monk is just crazy good at punching things. Give him a bloodlust elixir and he just mows shit down.

Gale has been my MVP for most of the game so far. Evoker not only has nice bonuses to damage but also can drop fireballs or ice storms right in the middle of the party and not hurt friendlies.

I actually got to level 10 on my medic before I managed to unlock any of the non-basic engrams. Medic/Summoner is a pretty nice combo since you can quickly heal back the health you spend to summon the critters.
