Short term is holding under a year. So if you buy X stock for $5000 today, sell it for $10000 tomorrow, then it goes down to $5000 in two months and sell you again, no taxes, they wash out. Long term capital gains only wash out against long term losses. Therein where you can fuck yourself if...

It ain't that bad really. Short term capital losses offset short term capital gains. If you know exactly what you start with, and don't actually take much money out during the year, or you keep track of it very well, you can easily know what your taxes are.

I have a base salary of $140k a year, I live in California, AND I day trade shit relentlessly, so taxes aren't anything new to me unfortunately.

It dipped for all of about 20 minutes as soon as that news came out. BTC went from 40k down to 38 and change, Eth went down to low 2600s and maybe high 2500s. Then immediately back to where it is now.

I don't like this BTC wavering at 40k and ETH at 2800. IT'S FREAKING ME OUT, MAN (not really.) Is it gonna bust higher or lower.

Coinbase Pro is cheaper than regular CB, so at least it’s better in that way. Personally I’m happy to be off the exchanges. They’re a good on-ramp to get your money in.

No time soon. Going to wait until it gets higher. Whenever the market settles I expect it to rebound past ATH. ETH gas fees are crazy as are swaps.

MATIC, my man. I bought in 35k at 70 cents. I just sold it at $2.15 earlier. There was various trades inbetween but that’s where my massive profits came from. That 70 cent buy in was about 2 weeks ago if memory serves. I’m going to buy back into it soon.

My thought process is, even if I lose a little bit by buying back in at a higher cost than what I exited, I’ll take the peace of mind at the moment. I’m already up huge over the past two weeks.
