    Comic Books

Valiant did some good work. X-O Manowar in particular I really enjoyed. One interesting thing was how they revived some old comics from the 50s and 60s. Turok, Solar, and Magnus were all like that.

Early sets all had some wild cards in them because it was early enough that things were harder to balance. Homelands and Fallen Empires were kind of the first sets that didn't have anything that was too silly besides Merchant Scroll and Hymn to Tourach. Legends is kind of the polar opposite...

Mirage block was the first block that they actually designed with Limited in mind. Drafting Ice Age or 4th edition or whatever is so bad in comparison.

Sagas were ok since they mostly just did what they did. This shit is way too much hassle and just seems shitty in general.

Yeah Spurs once and Raptors once. He's definitely better than a lot of dudes already in the HoF. Basketball HoF is pretty notorious for how easy it is to get in compared to the other sports.

There are legit good old movies. Also there are some movies you should appreciate for what they did for film that aren't necessarily very good watches today.

    Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

I mean you can say you enjoy it more even if it's mostly nostalgia. but there are people that seem to think that fringe starters in the 90s would be borderline all stars today when it's completely the other direction. That totally belongs in a different thread than this one though. This...

    Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

You can certainly argue that the effort required to make movies back then was enough that you didn't have many low budget, low effort turds of movies, but if you're going to go into some skewed nonsense about how of the 500 best movies of all time 483 of them were from pre 1950 that's...

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Not sure about the only 1 good episode thing. There were good moments throughout the show, but a lot of the connective tissue was pretty bad with some really shit stand out moments like Sam's speech.

Consistent and frequent leg issues doesn't bode well for a long career. It doesn't seem very likely that he'll be able to keep it together into his mid/late 30s.

    Dune (2020)

I doubt it'll do gangbusters, but I hope they at least do the 1 sequel to finish the first book. It would seem like that was the plan to start with but if it does shit business who knows.

Hasn't seen Bladerunner, but talks up movies from the 20s. I've watched a lot of those older films. Some hold up, some not as much. But saying that most of the best movies are all from pre 1950 is some nonsense just based on volume.

A lot of top tier actors do shit movies fairly often. The quality of making a movie and the quality of the movie as a viewing experience aren't always in lockstep. So it's not always just about the payday. Sometimes people just want to work with certain people or owe favors.

He's put some sample chapters out, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he didn't put out the next book before he croaks. I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if he did. It's a tossup. My point was more that he certainly isn't likely to finish the series.

Comparing Ayton and Young is weird because they're play very different positions. Young is clearly being asked to do more than Ayton is, but Ayton is crazy efficient. Ayton is a good but not elite defender at this point, and we all know what Young is on that end of the floor. They're both...
