FFXI also was pretty much 100% grinding in parties to level, the "Fields of Valor" weren't added until much later and were mainly to help supplement mobs you were already grinding. They also gave out mana regen and food buffs.

FFXI had "level syncing" but it wasn't like GW2, it was closer to EQ2 mentoring. You could form a party and sync down to the lowest level party member, while getting bonus exp.

I assume they didn't get rid of leves, but even those had some "collect bear asses". If you don't have quests for solo people, what are they going to do, just grind? I don't see how you can get rid of those kind of quests completely.

The guy was complaining about the same 10-15 heroes being used in these pro matches. At least Icefrog rebalances heroes frequently to change up what heroes are being used if it get's stale.
