Kind of a crazy situation. Potentially bad news causing sell offs, but there are so many people waiting in the wings to buy dips that it's pingponging like mad. I'm watching the institutional investors. A sell-off there could cause an actual serious drop. Not that I'm selling regardless.

If you managed to catch BTC at 51.5k you probably got a great deal. It must have hit that low and bounced back so fast it's not even registering on the chart.

Probably not long. Looks like lots of people are buying the dip. Dunno though. I think there is probably a concern about anti-crypto legislation resulting from these charges. The dip might last for a while is people are waiting to hear what the DoJ says about the launderers.

US Govt going to be charging several institutions with laundering via crypto. That's causing the nosedive.

I listened to the entire first episode of the series he did with Saylor that you posted and thought it was really good. I'm both an anthropology and Roman history wonk and Saylor knows his stuff when it comes to that. Didn't even get to the crypto part yet but I still thought it was really...

The Saturday night crypto dip is pretty much a tradition at this point. Should continue to dip the first part of the week (unless we get a catalyst). This is good. It needs to dip to stay healthy (and so I can buy more).

Well, the charts focus on retail investors. Obviously the charts aren't always right, but I think retail behavior is the most predictable/easiest thing to chart. The wild cards are the random world, government, and institutional moves that shake the financial landscape; things the charts can't...

Honestly, I went ahead and consolidated everything I could into VET and ETH, which included most of my stocks. No mistake, focusing so narrowly is a risky move. I'm willing to take the risk myself, but I wouldn't blame anyone that wasn't. As everyone here knows, diversifying lowers both risk...

Binance is definitely the best place to buy VET because it's one of the few exchanges that has it. I personally think it's the best place to buy all crypto because it has a ton of stuff and it's far and away the cheapest- but others might argue with me. All my ETH and VET are in Binance.

Agree. Both ETH and VET seem to have the best use cases out there so I'm going all in on both of them. Their performance record backs that up too. It's part of the reason that ETH has been outperforming BTC for over a year and has really pulled away from BTC very recently. People are...

One visit to /r Satoshi Street Bets and you can see why they limit it. That sub has become a cesspool of shitcoin shilling. That said, they need to open things up a little more and add some other legit coins (like VET!). I'm sure eventually they will.

I totally expected this, but not this fast. I figured it would take a while longer. Was kind of banking on it tbh. I'm in the process of xferring money to Binance to buy more VET and ETH as we speak. Both are obviously still worth buying, but I was hoping to buy cheaper. I'm sure we will...

My understanding is if you bought the ETH for 35k and then you convert the ETH to stablecoin when the ETH is worth 45k, you'd have to pay taxes on the 10k you "gained." But definitely don't take my word for it.

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

This is my understanding of it from a few articles I've read. It's pretty awful tbh. But if you are just swapping coins for a wash (no gain) then no tax. And if you sell for a loss I'm guessing you can write that loss off like you would a stock. Flobee correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, looking at that chart there's obviously a huge spike ~3 days prior to the listing, then a sell-off right BEFORE the listing (which is interesting), then a small spike after listing (expected), then another gradual sell-off (also expected). That's interesting- thanks for posting. If VET...

You might be right. I haven't parsed out how Coinbase listings affect coins. I believe there will be a huge runup until it's listed, but I'd be surprised if there was more than a slightly larger than normal selloff after it lists. I suspect VET is just going to keep increasing tbh. Put it...

Yeah Ive been dealing with their red tape shit since I signed up a couple weeks ago. The verification/ID stuff is a pita, but it makes me more confident in their security protocols. I think the hack where they lost several million in Bitcoin a couple years ago really motivated them to be...

You are using your debit card dude. Of course they are going to pass the Visa (or whatever card) transaction fee onto you. You would need ACH deposit to get the free deposits/withdrawals.

Much, much cheaper exchange fees. I paid $6 to buy 8k in ETH for example.

Right- if you eventually want to stake your ETH, you can't move it from RH to a staking location to do so... huge disadvantage. Even if you don't care about the "your keys, your crypto" angle, not being able to pull it off the exchange it's on for any reason is enough to avoid using RH. I made...

You might be right. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Thiel was quietly accumulating some alt coin at a super discounted rate and later comes out and says "Hey, Bitcoin is a Chinese weapon, but altcoin X here solves all those problems that plague BTC."

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Yeah for sure he is calling for tighter regulation. He doesn't say "Don't invest in Bitcoin" but calling it a "Chinese financial weapon against the US" isn't exactly putting it in a positive light. Either way, I think it's interesting that both he and Green are specifically calling out Bitcoin...

Good luck. Seriously. As I've said the last few pages I'm going to get screwed buying ETH because I had to wait for the various verification/transfer processes of switching things to Binance. It's gone from $1600 to $2100+ since I decided to switch to Binance and invest heavily. Hope VET...

I think their fees are like 500% lower than coinbase. I have Binance, but be aware of some things: 1. They aren't a U.S. company (but they have a U.S. operation). In fact, the location of their HQ is undisclosed... As in no one knows where it's located. The founder is Chinese. 2. They...
