Malaysian Airlines 777 Shot Down (?)

It's quite possible Tad, Fana and comrade Ara are all the same person these days.

    The Lottery

Bah, way better than Salem, plus it has Madchen Amick. Honestly it's a great guilty pleasure show.

So if we invade Aladdin and Merlin going in strong? Outstanding!

    Gotham

All reviews I've read have been positive and I'm pretty sure they are going for more than just the comic fanboy crowd. They can pretty much tease all they want, it will either work or it won't and they will adjust or cancel it. Comic fans are never happy, it's pretty much death and taxes. I'll...

    The Strain

Hogan and Del Toro wrote the books in mind for TV/film , think I read so where they were hoping to make it into a movie trilogy but a good TV deal ended up working. I'm just hoping the show is better than the books but it's still early.

    Gotham

Heh you guys keep ragging on the show and I bet it outdoes Arrow ratings and they renew it for a full season two. Besides with Fox buying WB, it's all going to be a moot point.

    The Shannara Chronicles

I always wondered if Brooks played the long game and knew he was going to tie Shannara in with his Word/Void series to complete the tale. I think it worked pretty well. Heck my ranger in EQ was named Jair, I enjoyed the series that much back in the day.

    The Shannara Chronicles

Not to excuse him but it was his first book and most fantasy back in the late 70's was pretty much bleh, I'm sure his editors had him keep it generic for sales. I think it sold pretty well. He's had a long career and has three decent book series , I've read better and much much worse.

    The Strain

Had its good parts and had its bad parts. It's decent enough to keep watching. The books are what you'd expect , if they removed the whole kid/mother storyline would have been much better.

    The Shannara Chronicles

There was an interview with Brooks a few years back that he pretty much admitted to the Sword being a clone of Lotr but his stuff got progressively better and I agree I enjoyed how he put the Word/Void series together with Shannara. I'm behind on the series though, think the last was the bearers...

    The Shannara Chronicles

I'm ok with that and that's coming from guy who has an original Keith Parkinson painting of Soul of Fire in his living room. Plus that show gave us Bridget Regan

    Comic Books

It's not listed as an elseworlds but it is, probably my favorite non-canon Supes story. Superman Secret Identity by Busiek and Immomen, really good read. Superman for All Seasons by Loeb and Sale is good too.

    The Shannara Chronicles

Always liked the Shannara series but again I read it back in the late 70's when I was a kid. Least to me not as good as Tolkien but enjoyed more than Lion Witch Wardrobe, don't remember a lot of good fantasy back then. Don't really see the problem with MTV, Teen Wolf is pretty decent and the...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

The last paragraph is pretty much the absolute truth for any long time comic fan. I've learned to ignore all the crisis's, finals, wars, reboots, etc and just hope for a good story.

    Arrow

Yup, another good casting job. Always liked Brandon, think he was the least of the problems with Superman Returns. Loved his Chuck spots and thought Dylan Dog was pretty entertaining.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

I get it. Your in comic book fanboy character and sticking to it. Personally I'd like to see the Steve reeves version of Superman vs the Adam West version of Batman, now that would be entertainment.

Yup he's fucking with us. Game over man.

    Constantine

Aye, the helmet is the device by which Nabu, lord of Light takes over a body. Think it's a symbiotic releationship by which Nabu imbues the wearer with pretty much god level magic. The helmet has a magic tower to, which I think in the comics was set in Salem.

    Constantine

Finished the leaked pilot a few minutes ago and thought it was pretty good. Now I'm no expert on John and have only read a handful of his stories and liked the Keanu version, so I may be easy to please. I did like the Easter eggs but couldn't tell what half of the were other than Fate's helmet.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Lol nether is even close to being a favorite of mine, just shows how blinded you are by your hatred of Superman. Both are great characters when well written problem is when introduced together it's rarely a good story.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

So basically it boils down to you not liking superman, got it.

    Transformers 4: Baylicious

Wife wanted to go see it today, she's definitely the fan of transformers with 3 younger brothers. I liked it more then the last two and liked it about as much as the first. Plenty of wrong with the movie especially towards the end and if they shaved 30 minutes off would have been nice. I also...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

I'd argue with all the Batman white knighting your doing, it's quite possible your not real. Argue comic semantics all you want, Batman is just poorly written most of the time to shoehorn him into a super powered world.
  25. K

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Batman is alway going to be the cash cow for DC it's just too bad he's been shoehorned into a Batgod instead of a street level hero. He's just too interconnected to the comic book universe to remove that part of his appeal.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Justice League is fine and Batman is Batman and I think they work best when removed from each other. Most of Batman's best stories have been elseworlds stuff or more down to earth storylines. I've been reading DC on and off for 35 years and Batman annoys me to no end but he's the main cash cow...

    Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018)

Think Beef is pretty much correct, I know I didn't go into Pacific Rim thinking it anything other than a movie with giant robots beating up giant monsters , this was my childhood watching wpix channel 11 in ny, which ran the old Godzilla stuff non-stop. It definitely spoke to my inner child...

    Penny Dreadful

Think the problem was that the first episode created expectations that the rest of the season never lived up to. It looked like it was going to be somewhat action oriented with decent characters and it ended up more of a slow burn storyline with a few very slow spots. I saw some interviews...

    Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018)

I look at movies this way... I've got a family, job, kid and dog, I've got plenty to stress about during the day so with most movies and tv shows I'm checking my brain at the door, sitting back and just enjoying the show. If the movie completely insults my intelligence I won't watch it again. I...

    Arrow

Eh? Never got the Paris Hilton vibe off her so not sure what your issue is with her, don't remember a lot of page six stuff written about her as well. She looks the part, has played similar characters before, I'd call it a win.

    Arrow

Miho as Katana, that is some excellent casting. This show continues to knock it out of the park. http://m.deadline.com/2014/07/syfy-a...pj-boudousque/

    Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

I guess so, it didn't for one minute diminish my enjoyment just thought it was unecessary, but she did look good carrying it around. Cruise seems to be one of the few actors who actually look for decent sci-fi action movies these days.

    Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018)

I'll be the first to say it, I enjoyed 2010 much more than 2001. I rarely agree with Astro but Pacific Rim, while not perfect is certainly the type of film that you check your brain at the door and just enjoy the ride. I'm looking forward to the next one.

    Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

Watched it yesterday , enjoyed it and my only complaint was ever so small, why did Warrior angel need a cloud sword? The mech suit weapons seemed much more useful.

    The Netflix Thread

If this was based off the Henning Mankell novel which it sounds like, thanks for the recommendation. I highly recommend his book as well if you like Swedish mysteries.

Sometimes but since it's Billie Piper whose never been shy about showing all her bits, especially in Secrets of a Call Girl, I'm thinking it's all her.

    Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

This, I'm a sucker for musicals even bad ones, Rock of ages played the camp straight and it worked. For all Cruises' craziness he's a damn good actor and he never seems to phone in performances.

    Longmire

The books that the show are based upon are pretty decent reads, the show captures Walt really well. Parts of New Mexico can easily pass for Wyoming. I'd like to see more Katie, I've had a thing for her since Smallville.

    The Musketeers

Ehh somewhat, few of the episodes turn into fight fests but the last two episodes really hit high notes. I'm happy to see that it will be back.
