There are definitely bosses that can kill you in one hit. I have seen Taurus, Capra, Bed of Chaos, Quelaag, Four Kings, Stray Demon and Demon Firesage all one shot before.
That's how everything is. Practice makes perfect. Plus DS style isn't a surprise now, when I first played DeS I was comparing it to other RPGs like Morrowind and shit, now I compare it to other Souls games.
The benchmark we measure these games against has permanently risen.
It was a lot of fun and ended up being a lot easier than I expected. I made a huge mistake in that I never purchased Combustion/Greater Combustion before I killed Quelaana so I only ever had Great Chaos Fireball throughout the game.
It looks great and it's been an absolute blast PvPing and co oping so far. I finished my 100% run with elite knight set and black knight sword which I got before Taurus demon. Now I'm contemplating either a dex build or a SL1 Dark Wraith run.
No. A DPS race scenario makes it even less likely, charm pets getting dispelled, Trak being intentionally pulled on top of the raids around corners and shit. Presence of the Mighty really impacts Trakanon more than any other mob. With the lifetap procs (which you're not resisting at 51) it's not...
They've said that their focus is primarily on the grouping game, and building fun/challenging content at that level. It's been emphasized that while raid mobs will exist it represents a very small minority for them because the game is about meaningful group level gameplay.
I don't really...
The same shit happens in tons of MMO's. Even in Everquest Vox and Nagafen were killed during Beta.
Regarding the goals for their customer base, here is a quote from Brad:
"And just so you don't think I'm too crazy, no, I don't think the vast majority of these audiences and demographics will...
1. Taking part in limited testing phases which are wiped long before real launch isn't the same as being able to log in days before the rest of the population and have your gains persist into launch.
2. People see the value in a plan which eliminates hundreds of bugs and exploits before launch...

I've got five friends who come over my house about once a month and we set up three teams and all play Dark Souls. The way it works is we're all racing to see who can beat all bosses first, but every time you die you pass the controller to your partner.
We also incorporate a drinking game to...

When I was on LJ Dima once bragged about his guys stealing a ton of names and guild names on Ragefire. Wouldn't surprise me if him, discord, walking and those guys had a bunch of them on every server.
1. How will kill credit be determined? Will you use FTE (First to engage), MDD (Most damage done) or some other system entirely?
2. Will you introduce any built in / artificial processes to mitigate "bad behavior"?
3. Is development at this stage going faster or slower than you expected? Are...
I literally just post Pantheon related news in this thread. Would you prefer all of us just posted falling gifs here?
You are so used to people shitting on this game that any positive or even neutral feedback looks like shilling.
I don't think they'd be expanding the team if they had projected financial issues in their near future. They're pretty tight lipped on funding and such though, so everything is pure conjecture unless someone here is in the know.
I'm expecting a very late 2020 launch at the earliest. I'm with Korrupt and you on this one, I'd hate to see it earlier than that. We've already waited forever, I'd rather keep waiting than see it launch as a dumpster fire.
If we do see Alpha in December of 2018, we'll probably see Beta in...
ITT: People saying every other guild sucks because they don't measure up to <insert metric here that reflects well upon my guild>
Guy 1: We did it when it mattered.
Guy 2: We did it without cheating.
Guy 3: We did it without zerging.
Guy 4: We did it with competition.
Guy 5: We did it faster...
You've probably missed about three or four streams, the dev team has reached about 20 members, a new zone was revealed and alpha is expected to begin in 2018. Supposedly we'll be seeing the remaining classes revealed soon, Bards are now expected to be in at launch.
Latest stream:
They're...
I think they just didn't renew his contract. His job history doesn't show anything major after VR so it doesn't look like he left for greener pastures.
This is a new game he appears to be working on.
They got three but they wiped so many times their instance ran out. We were busy clearing the rest of Velious and were content to do ST last as long as no one tried open world. It was a solid attempt on the part of Tikkle, he just didn't have much to work with.
No one tried to be first, there was never a race not in PoP or any other era. No Trucidation player will tell you they planned to race us for anything, and FE certainly never thought about "racing" other guilds here for "firsts". TLP servers are decided before server launch. There was never...
No one is fighting over first, it's just a bunch of people enjoying some ForumQuest. If you can't kick back and enjoy some pointless drama then it's your loss really because this is a lot of fun if you don't take it seriously.
