Only way I've found to avoid this is to find a team that only raids twice a week. The loot rules here has been an amazing experience for our playstyle.

I only play 1 toon and haven't had any problems finding decent pugs or guild groups. Given, that I always build my guys to be able to solo light blues if needed. I admit the idea is much easier on a raid geared monk and paly alt.

I can parcel it once you get the character name worked out. I hopped on to figure out what I had; probably about 10k pp worth of gear. 21% sky haste belt. ( no market to sell a lot of this stuff anymore )

I have quite a bit of monk gear as I've upgraded. No extra fungi. I don't need cash for this stuff, but nothing is bad.

You can buy also the velious armor slots pretty easily now too, probably epic turns-ins.

Honestly with bard songs, potions and buffs once you break 275 resists I would just focus on HP gear for the monk. Raid buffed I run about 5300 hps and with mend and Celestial 9 potions are always enough to keep me up. Staff of Null is fun for cancel magic and shield of the immaculate for cure...

If you plan on raiding I would say Bard. Even in small groups it will give you a lot of utility to bring to the table. Rangers use the same chain you would; I would avoid that where possible.

Gear is the key. Having full hate gear and 13 damage weapons out of the box, focus on HP items and you might be surprised that you mitigate damage better than rangers. Awesome utility weapons now too; Slow, Snare, Tash etc. from weapon procs so it just depends how involved you want to be in...

Made a rogue alt with full woven shadow at lvl 1. Will probably eventually do the same with a paladin because it's funny and Valorium was already a pita to get.

I've only played an iksar. They also have much higher INT, and if you want to top DPS early on then mana is what you need. By AoW and Vulak I was consistently in the top 3 dps rotating the greenmist proc, epic 1.0 proc and then vulak 2hs for attacking. Always had someone to cure Vulak's slow...
