This honestly seems like the worst fucking idea. It would greatly reduce player acquisition after 10+ years and slightly increase retention. Sounds to me like you just want to be more "important" in the game than you are because you were there from day 1.

You're (sort of) not wrong. Increased revenue for cosmetics leads to an increase in development for cosmetics and other purchasable features. If the players that are spending money stop playing, it leads to increased content. Retention matters dude.
