Guys; I tried the first episode of this show and I had to drink caffeine to get through it. The pace is about as fast as growing potatoes on Mars. How did anyone get through season 1? Let alone get to episode 2?

TNG, if you recall, had a sketchy first season. And as for testosterone content, I think SNW has more than TNG ever had right out of the gate. Pike has already had 3 girlfriends in 10 episodes.

It was good-- much more of a true homage than the previous episode was to Alien(s)/Predator. Too bad they couldn't really forge the bond the Kirk/Romulan captain had in the original. And TOS Kirk was way ballsier than he was in this incarnation of him. Didn't love the Kirk-- too skinny, too Jim...
