    That's what I'm told by the one guy who I know IRL who actually works in the industry. He insists that you could re-create Original EQ for 3 or 4 million today - zones, warts and all. But of course today they've got to have better art, particularly better character art and animation.

    They need a lot more people even if they're just aiming for EQ Vanilla sized. Everquest had 50 or so people on the team. I wish there was a way to crowdsource some of the art or design but there isn't AFAIK. I don't think Player Studio is going to work for a place as small as NewCo.

    @Flip. You are confusing the ability to heal oneself while dpsing with OP (a feature of the ot/dt targeting system) VG classes were asymmetric and the healers were much better soloers. The only truly OP class in VG was the DK after he got the AoE lifesteal. Now that shit was ridiculous.

    Wrong as usual. I most enjoyed being a non OP monk. If people preferred gmode everyone would be asking to be a hybrid and the ability to solo to cap.

    I don't see that happening. Note the "modern" on the Twitter feed. Pantheon is going to be closer to VG than to EQ. Hopefully though, it will have EQ loot, not VG loot (VG was a loot pinata), EQ bosses (far too many VG bosses were snareable pushovers) and a more EQ like (i.e. minimal)...

    I think this will remain the biggest bone of contention on these boards: VG Combat vs. EQ Combat. You can't do both. I'd play with EQ Combat, but I'd be missing VG Combat.
